    2. N Urbino
    3. Thanks Cara Will keep a look out for info. Many German's and Germaine's in the area in Wicklow. Name came from Finlay side. His grandfather was a German Finlay - there are quite a few of those! Name on his 1892 Marriage Certificate is "German", and his Bible annotated before leaving Ireland has German too. I have both. Seems he never used it much in Australia. All other documents uses Jeremiah and is the name on his headstone in cemetery. I use both just in case someone sees references. No relatives I have been in contact with here or in other countries knew his proper name either - even my mother! May be something to do with politics of the early late 1800/early 1900's. rgds Neil

    1. [IRL-WICKLOW] BREEN
    2. Joyce
    3. Hi Listers I am researching the BREEN family from Crosscoolharbour, near Blessington, and currently looking for - The marriage of TIMOTHY BREEN (b. about 1801) to an ANNE(born about 1811), the marriage most likely prior to approximately 1838 when I know that they had a son called WILLIAM (year of birth estimated from age at death). I am also looking for the marriage of this WILLIAM BREEN, sometime I would think after 1858. Nothing obvious is appearing on the Marriage Index, but may be a WILLIAM whose marriage is registered in the Shillelagh District. Any hints, information etc., would be more than welcome Joyce

    1. Re: [IRL-WICKLOW] IRL-WICKLOW Digest, AUGHAVANAGH - TOOLE
    2. Hi Mike, I have a Thomas Toole, Baptized on 20 May 1825. His parents were John Toole and Elizabeth Kelly. Residence given as Aughavanagh. Sponsors were Matthew Fleming and Margaret Kinsella. This record was transcribed from microfilm # 6472 (NLI), Rathdrum Parish. There are also records for John - 1829, Bridget - 1835, same parents/residence/Parish. If you think these people might be your family, and are interested in the other two records (sponsors, etc), just give me a shout. I can also give you the sponsors for Thomas and Catherine's children, except for the last three (Maryanne, Edmond and Patrick). I don't have those. Peggy Leonard Thomas Toole was born in 1825 in Aughavanagh and married to Catherine Byrne. I have no other information on Catherine. **************Huge Savings on Popular Laptops only at Dell.com. 2. Sharon Kavanagh
    3. Names: James Kavanagh b. 1830-40 & Margaret Kavanagh b. approx. 1837. They were siblings (or cousins, etc.) Religion: RC Parish: Mullinacuff Townland: Ballynultagh (Parents/relatives: could have been Eliza Kavanagh, Thomas Kavanagh) James may have been a cooper by trade. Margaret became a Sister of Mercy in RI/CT, USA in 1862. Sailed: ship Glenlyon, New Ross 15April to Quebec 30 May, 1851 as Fitzwilliam tenants, family group #601.* James married (to Margaret Byrne of parish Hacketstown, townland Ballinguile...4 sons born in Chicago) & living in Chicago, IL, USA by 1863 (according to US Civil War records.) * From Fitzwilliam Tenant Records: James (age 19) sailed with Laurence & Anne Foster Kavanagh (both 38 in 1851). Also on ship in family group #601 were Thomas Kavanagh age 16, Laurence Kavanagh age 14, Denis Kavanagh age 12, Ally Kavanagh age 10 and Charles Kavanagh age 8. A John Kavanage age 18 was scratched from ship's list. A Margaret Kavanagh age 23 was shown living with these Kavanaghs in 1847 Fitzwilliam records, but apparently did not sail on the Glenlyon in 1851. Anne Burgess in Ontario, Canada has shared information about some of these Kavanaghs after they arrived in Canada. I am most grateful to her and to Cara, also for their help and encouragement over the years. Does anyone on the IRL-Wicklow list have any connection to any of the above named Kavanaghs? I am trying to either "claim" this James (and maybe the Margaret) as ours, or to eliminate them as our Kavanagh immigrants. We have U.S. info on both 'our' James and Margaret Kavanagh from 1862 onward. Many thanks for the ROLL CALL. Sharon Kavanagh Oregon, U.S.
