    1. [IRL-WICKLOW] Ordering photocopies of births & deaths
    2. Vicki Harding
    3. Hello I am wanting to order two copies of deaths and one birth from the gro. I have found the information on the IGI pilot search site with regards to the civil registration, but there does not appear to be anywhere on the actual forms to put this information. Most of the information that it asks for I don't know. For the birth I have 2 "male" Willoughbys who were born in 1865, but I don't know which is the one that I want. For the deaths I have John Willoughby who died 1916 and Alice Willoughby who died 1915. Can SKS give me advice as to which information to put on the form? Regards Vicki New Zealand

    3. Vicki, You can download the birth form from here: http://www.groireland.ie/docs/BirthEnglishApp.doc and the death form from here: http://www.groireland.ie/docs/DeathEnglishApp.doc When you fill out the section about the person you are looking for (Section 2), all you need to do is insert the details you got from the LDS Pilot Site, which must include: Surname, Forename, Year, Volume, Page and Registration District. Where it asks for birth/death date on the form, you insert the Year, Volume and Page numbers, eg 'Jan-Mar 1870, Vol 2, P 345'. Where it asks for place of birth or death, you insert the Registration District, eg 'Rathdown Registration District'. Works for me. BIG MISTAKE Dollys dad was John. Thought Id better put it right incase theres another Donnolly seeker out there. All not lost im thinking mam and dad were John and Judith or Judeth 29 August 1831 John Donnelly married Judy McDaniel Witneses Murtagh McDaniel and Judy Doran Now to link them to Cronebane..... Dolly was a sponsor of one of Michael Donnells kids so still part of the family? At this rate I wll be claiming all Donnellys- and those McDaniels/ McDonnells was James Donnellys Mary a rellie of John Donnellys Judy? this can keep me occupied for months:) Carol

    1. [IRL-WICKLOW] Maria Moules, widow in 1911
    2. Peter McCaffery
    3. Does anybody on this list know who had been the husband of Maria Moules, who in the 1911 census is a 70-year-old widow living in Tinnakilly Upper townland, civil parish of Ballykine? Maria was perhaps the mother of John Moules, aged 43, who was living in Killacloran townland, civil parish of Kilpipe, with his wife Jane and their children Maria, John, Micheal, Patrick and Robert, ranging in age from 6 years to 5 month. John Moules senior would have been born in about 1867 or 1868, implying that Maria married his father in or before 1866. I'd be interested in establishing a connection with Eliza Moules, who emigrated to Wigton in Cumbria, marrying there in 1866 and giving 19 as her age then, and Co.Wicklow as her birthplace. Maybe she was an aunt of John Moules senior. Peter McCaffery

    1. [IRL-WICKLOW] DONNELLYS baptisms and marriages etc needed
    2. Hi Im hoping someone can give me anything on these people from the Avoca area- Im working on the possbility they were living in Cronebane and are all part of my Donnellys- and Im ecstatic!!!!! Dolly DONNELLY- baptised Avoca RC 1832 father James. Im thinking mam was Mary McDaniel/McDonnell, id love to know who, if anyone, she married. I believe its the same girl who was a sponsor for Michael Donnelly and Mary Doyles son Michael in 1846. Anythng about her would be great. Michael DONNELLY- having kids in Avoca from 1841- lawrence. He was married to Mary Doyle. I would love to know when these 2 married so I can get a rough idea of his age. His baptism would be a bonus but I have no idea when /where. There is also a Michael and Eleanor/Ellen having kids from 1852. I think this may be the same Michael. I dont know ellens maiden name but would love that marriage also to see if everything fits. My train of thought re Cronebane Donnellys etc is that on 1901 and 1911 census lawrence Donnelly born circa 1840 is a miner in Cronebane, 1901 has him living with mam Ellen. Could she be his stepmam cos no other lawrence Donnellys fit the bill. Hes the right religion- RC on 1911. this set me off to see dad michael donnelly in Cronebane on Griffiths valuation, next to John who I think is mine, A witness at Johns weddng in 1853 is also a possble Cronebane man on Griffths val- J Connor. Dare I hope that of all the great spots in the Avoca area Cronebane is mine? Thanks in advance, AND THANKS AGAIN TO CARA FOR PROVIDNG ALL THE PARISH RECORD INFO OVER THE YEARS THAT HAS LED ME TO THIS WONDERFUL POSSBILITY. carol

    3. Keely name is Catholic in 1790 found in the Avoca area Also the name Ireland located in Co Wicklow in 1810 with a marriage licence of William Wallace of Wicklow ( Altadore) marrying Eliza Darley I also have seen the names you seek in Wexford around Bunclody Especially the name Ireland.............. If you need further insight ( not much ) write me off list for details The Roe name came from Co Wexford and married into the Church of Ireland family of Sherwood by 1787. So perhaps you have a case of the families marrying girls from Wicklow but the grooms being from further south - just a suggestion mind you I have other sources to go through yet. 1. Re: [IRL-WICKLOW] IGP Archives - cemetery question
    2. Joyce
    3. Frank I thought I should add my comments too. I tend not to make a comment on the religion of those buried in a particular cemetery. As Christina has said, quite often burials of folk from more than one religion are buried in a cemetery. There are Catholic families/folk buried in Church of Ireland Graveyards paricularly many years ago(e.g. early burials at Wicklow and Newcastle both of which are located at Church of Ireland Churches) With regard to Redford, there are two separate cemeteries in this area and not adjoined, and both called Redford (see photos of the gates of each), so we had to distinguish between the two. The cemeteries that are predominately Catholic (from those I have done) are:- Burgage, Blessington Glendalough St.Patrick's Kilquade Killadreenan Kilmacanogue Old Kilmacanogue Cemetery Rathnew (In Part One mostly Protestant burials but remainder Parts mostly Catholic) Redford Catholic Roundwood St.Peter's Little Bray Templeboden (done by Yvonne) Avoca (done by Cara) Arklow St. Gabriels (done by Cara) Kilcarra (done by Cara) But again I must emphasise that in most cases, gone are the days when Catholics were buried in one part of a graveyard and Protestants in another, so do keep an open mind. The cemeteries currently on Wicklow IGP and not on the above list would be chiefly for Protestant Burials, and fingers crossed I have listed all correctly! Hope this helps you when searching. Joyce

    2. Christina Finn Hunt
    3. Frank, I understand your request. Sometimes I believe there is a mix of religions in a cemetery. You can often tell by looking at a few photos. The RC and Protestant cems. tend to look a bit different. Virgin Marys etc vs no Virgin Mary. Of the ones that Joyce and Yvonne have done in Wicklow, I believe the only Catholic one is the one called Redford Catholic in the index. The rest are Protestant denominations. We will see if we can do better. Christina | Christina: I have a request. On the IGP archives would it be | possible to denote the denomination, if known, of the cemeteries | and churches? It would help to separate entries of the same name. | Frank Kernohan
