Sorry, coming into this conversation at the tail-end so may be missing something. But a quick google search indicates that book "Annals of the Sinnott, Rogers, Coffin, Corlies, Reeves, Bodine and allied families" by Mary Elizabeth Sinnott can be viewed online at Google books http://books.google.com/books? id=EpxRAAAAMAAJ&printsec=frontcover&dq=Annals+of+the+Sinnott, +Rogers,&source=bl&ots=EUJH_vRiwE&sig=ajMqkg6amWsN5x- My7p2py1UMQo&hl=en&ei=Mnf2TJugEMOB8gb64NixBw&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=resu lt&resnum=5&ved=0CCAQ6AEwBA#v=onepage&q&f=false and is available through such booksellers as Waterstones http://www.waterstones.com/waterstonesweb/products/anonymous/annals+of +the+sinnott2c+rogers2c+coffin2c+corlies2c+reeves2c+bodine+and+allied +families/7751897/ and Amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/Annals-Sinnott-Rogers-Corlies-Families/dp/ 1149277130 I have no connection with this book, and the above information is openly available on the web, so I hope it's OK with Cara to post the info here. Hello Colette, I am sorry I have take a little longer to answer this for you, but I have had a mail problem so if any of you are reading this and wondering why my mails are slow, spare me a thought that the ISP is not behaving, and sometimes mails get out, sometimes they are bouncing back to people and others times I get a day like this where a good strong drink ( tea) and a yelling match with the computer has it working its pants off and behaving. Your Question Colette at last:- Firstly as you hae such a common name is going to have to be in the end a costly exercise in you buying the death certificates from the GRO, but if anyone else on here is researching ANY John Byrne, could you at least contact Colette, and adise her if any of the men I am about to list may not be her men. BURIALS Arklow of Fisherman 1- John Byrne 28/11/1911 Last resided Well Lane was a Fisherman /Married aged 50 Accidently killed off Arklow Harbour--- ( There was another lister long time back asking about this man cannot recall who now sorry) Please allow that the ages do not always match the birthdate or the headstones 2- John Byrne 4/5/1908 Last resided Coolgreany Road was a fisherman and a widower aged 63 3-John Byrne 4/8/1908 last resided Dublin was a fisherman and a widower aged 71 Now a Michael Byrne was lost aboard the Schooner "Mary Agnes" owner was a James Horan no age 1909 and he was a seaman. I, of course have contacts in Arklow ( family and friends) that are linked to the sea and may be able to ask them for some assistance in sorting which Byrne family you may be looking for, but with not much to go on it may be an area where they will be shing their heads. But I will send an Email to my friends and family and see what they may be able to turn up for me This at least shows you that someone is reading your mail Take care Cara I use BullGuard Spamfilter to keep my inbox clean. Hi I discovered that the RCB has put their list of parish registers online with a list of their manuscripts. Their library is now online but not older publications. Look under catalogues here: http://www.ireland.anglican.org/index.php?do=about&id=42 There can be more than just registers in the parish files eg Tithe books, vestry booke etc. In the manuscript list there is a 155 page extract of the Marriage Licenses for Ossary from 1734 to 1803. It lists about 550 marraiges. Off I went looking for Valentines but found none. As an interlude while the Irish Gov is flushing us down the X$%^ I see that Mary Hanfin has just said: "The refurbishment of the Historic Wings of the National Gallery, the upgrade of the Irish Museum of Modern Art and the upgrade of the National Museum will be completed. The digitisation programmes of key historic papers and collections will continue." Back to my reading of the Ossary Marriage L:icenses... For some reason Brownrigg always jumps out at me when I read something and so here are the Brownrigg reference I found!! 8/2/1747 Samuel Brownrigg, Coolcullen Kilkenny to Ann Hunt, Kilaree Kilkenny 21/2/1754 John Blackmore, Dowling Kilkenny to Anne Brownrigg, Widow, Dowling Kilkenny 15/9/1766 Henry Brownrigg, Carrick on Sure Tipperary to Susannah Bowers, alias Blackmore, widow 11/2/1771 James Munns, Cooper, Waterford to Margaret Brownrigg, Glenmore, spinster 25/7/1777 William Brownrigg, Ballylane Carlow to Catherine Deane, Rowen, spinster 7/7/1786 John Meade, Rogerstown Kilkenny, Farmer, to Ann Brownrigg, Fiddoun, spinster 26/12/1786 Robert Blackmore, Dawling Kilkenny to Dorothea Brownrigg, union of Fiddown, spinster 24/10/1789 Charles Hayden, Naas Kildare to Mary Brownrigg, Fiddown, spinster 16/7/1794 Thomas Brownrigg, Major in Col. In addition to Arklow part three done by Yvonne and Joyce, we have also had more headstones added for Kilquade this month. Kilquade (St Patrick's) has 130 images. Kilquade Cemetery has 102. The additional stones were done by Joyce Tunstead. As always to view go to: http://www.igp-web.com/IGPArchives/ Click on WICKLOW and then Headstones This is the time of year I like to mention that I have an Irish Recipe page at: http://www.igp-web.com/longford/recipes/main.htm The recipes are intended to be actual recipes as made by Irish relatives. If you have one to contribute, please send off list. And include the name of your relative. One of the most personal moments on our trip to Ireland in 2009 came when we stopped at a gas station/market in Ballymahon (Co Longford) and found they had potato cakes that look just like those his Ballymahon grandmother made. http://db.tt/vOzAiyP (short link) Cheers, Christina ===============================
In the recent days, many people would have been unsubbed from the Roootsweb lists that they were subbed to ( nothing to do with the lister inhouse problem at Rootsweb) So if you know of anyone not appearing on the list, and you have contact with them, would you be kind enough to tell them that if they are not receiving lists mails, they have been unsubbed and would not know of it as no bounce mails were sent to the lister. I have re-subbed as many as I was able to catch, but my problem is I do not know if you desired L mode or Digest mode, so in the future this will have to be addressed for you, Simply let me know in an email off list if your mail is not set how you desire it. I thank all of you for your patience in the last few weeks, and look forward to the lists settling back into there normal patterns, but it does raise the issue of whether in the future you all need to be running a generic adddress for you lists mails as well as the one you use everyday, but this is entirely up to you as the listers. I ask that this recent hitch not be discussed on list, as we as admins do not have the answers and you as listers do not need to get involved in admin problems ( take my word for that its a mess back here behind the scenes at the moment) Thankyou all Cara I use BullGuard Spamfilter to keep my inbox clean.
