    1. ROLL CALL - Higginbotham
    2. Susan Marshall
    3. Looking for information on:- Higginbotham family of Ballintruer and Castleruddery. Elizabeth Higginbotham b. 1747 Whitestown. Is she the daughter of Thomas Higginbotham of Ballintruer, whose will is dated 1762, and the sister of John Higginbotham of Queen's County, will dated 1805, owned land at Castleruddery and Ballynure, Dunlavin? Elizabeth eloped abt 1768, with John Hanbidge of Tinnehinch. b. 1744, d. 1830 Donoughmore. I have not been able to find out much information on the Higginbotham family at all. Although I think that they mainly came from Dublin. However I have lots of information on the descendants of Elizabeth and John. Any information received would be most appreciated, and hopefully my info will be of use to someone else Thanks Susan

    3. Sorry Richard to have excluded him but yes indeed he is there. I only posted those names that sprang to mind at the time, the site of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission is very interesting. Go to: http://www.cwgc.org/cwgcinternet/search.aspx The query panel comes up on the right with the word casualty in it, click on the drop down menu and choose Cemeteries, then enter the cemetery of your choice and follow it through. Here's hoping you have some luck. slan Cyril Newsome Loch Garman ----- Original Message ----- From: "compostellan" <compostellan@wanadoo.fr> To: <IRL-WICKLOW-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, July 03, 2005 11:11 PM Subject: Re: [Wicklow] War Graves > There's also my grandmother's brother > > 7 EDGE, EDWARD HENRY Private 25345 14/02/1916 17 Royal Dublin > Fusiliers United Kingdom In North-East part. But did he get a little muddled and actually mean Lord Claud Hamilton who actually married Elizabeth Emma Proby The Proby name itself meaning a good deal around the Arklow area He does have three female in his time and one son But I cannot tell you who the females were as I have only done a pedigree of a kind of the 3rd Earl of Carysfort who I might had would have been the ggrandfather of this Hamilton Lass if she is indeed Lord Hamiltons daughter, which would also link her to the family of Howards of Castle Howard So with this thought chasing you I leave you to ponder that perhaps the man who gave you a clue mayhap he was on to the right connections. But in the wrong place. 1. Roll Call: KEHOE/KIRWIN
    2. Dianne Lawrence
    3. Researching Henry KEHOE born c1791 and Johanna KIRWIN (Kirwan, sp?) born c1791 in Ireland. They married c1823 and their first child, Mary was born c1824 in Ireland. They immigrated to Canada c1825. Their religion was Roman Catholic. Henry and Johanna’s children are: Mary, Anne, John, Michael, Peter, Patrick and Henry. They settled a 200 acre farm in Bathurst Township, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada. The farm was later sold by their youngest son, Henry, in 1879. Michael Kehoe born Ireland c1799 and Ann Daly (Daley sp?) born Ireland 1805 came to Canada in 1828. Possibly one son, John. They settled a farm close to Henry and Johanna. Michael died in 1833 Peter Kehoe born Ireland 1804 and Bridget O’Toole born c1804 in Wexford (from her obit notice) came to Canada in 1831. Their children are: Ann, Ellen, Elizabeth, Mary, John, Margaret and Peter. They also settled a farm close to Henry and Johanna. I believe Henry, Michael and Peter to be brothers. Peter was enumerated as living with Henry in an 1836 census. Three of Henry’s children were enumerated with Ann in 1851. The eldest boy in each family was named John so according to naming patterns, Henry, Michael and Peter’s father could be John Kehoe. Later, in 1857, another Henry Kehoe, born Co. Wexford, Ireland c1821 with his wife, Ann Hudson born Ireland c1828 came to Canada and settled a farm close to the other three Kehoes. Their children are: Mary Ann, John Henry, Margaret, Edward, Catherine, William Henry, and Alice. I believe this family to be related to the earlier Kehoe settlers, perhaps a nephew or cousin. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has happened across a Henry Kehoe in your research in Ireland or if you would like more information on the Canadian Kehoe’s that I have researched I would be happy to share. Thank You. Dianne Kehoe Lawrence Ontario, Canada Perhaps of interest: The first mention I found of the name Kehoe in Ontario, Canada was 1817. James Kehoe a private with 12 years service in Ireland in the 49 Reg., one female adult and two children, one male over 12 years and one female under 12 years were residing at Lot 3, Concession 1, District of Bathurst, Upper Canada. This was recorded on August 12, 1817. Nat. Arch. Of Canada Reel C-4651 #733. He is again enumerated at this location in 1821 but nothing found in later censuses. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo!
