Anyone researching Elizabeth Groves and husband Thomas James b 1787 whose daughter Mary James was born 24 Oct 1815 in Croneleagh. By 1822 the family seems to have been in Kitley, Leeds Co. Ontario but migrated at some point to Huron County in western Ontario. Mary James married Richard Code and died in 1884 in East Wawanosh, Huron Co. I am most interested in Elizabeth Groves origins, dates, family, siblings, etc. but would love to hear from anyone researching the James and Code families connected to her. The likes of Michael Dwyer, John Mernagh, Hugh Vesty Byrne, Arthur Devlin & Martin Burke from the Wicklow Mountains arrived on the "Tellicherry". Dr Ruán O'Donell is organising a function in Wicklow while descendants of Hugh Vesty Byrne namely, Margaret Killen & Margaret Tucker from Tasmania will make the trip to Sydney. Joan Kavanagh from Wicklow together with the soon-to-be Dr, Ms Perry McIntyre Vice president of SAG in Sydney will also be in attendance. Unfortunately Brigadier Stan L Devlin who wrote the book, "Multiple Stains The Story of the Devlin and Associated Families in Australia" is still suffering from the after-affects of a major operation & can't be present but other family members will be. Members of the Catholic Historical Society & the Irish National Association will be there. Thomas Jackson married Alice Kavana ( variable spellings) 16/9/1839 in the parish of Avoca Co Wicklow Ireland the wedding was witnessed by John Doyle and Eliza Byrne ( RC) THREE children I have found to this marriage so far are Baptised Sunday 3rd March 1844 Ellen ( Parish of Avoca ) RC sponsors were Mortimer Kavana and Vera Kavana Sunday 13th September 1846 Owen ( Parish of Avoca ) RC -sponsors were James L ? and Bridget Devitt Monday 29th June 1840 Maria ( parish of Avoca) sponsors were Thomas Murphy and Catharine Jackson Other Jackson children in the register but none that give me a clue as to beonging to the above parents. Is this where I get on the Wicklow list? I am searching my family of Fennell and Jones. My Great Grandfather Henry Fennel was born about 1846 in Mayo, Co. Laois/Queens. He married Dorcas Jones born about 1842 in Holdenstown, Wicklow Co. I have all the info necessary on their children, but I need to go back further. Henry's parents were William Fennell, Mayo, Co. Laois born around 1824. Wife Elizabeth_____ born about 1817 and died Feb. 17, 1910. Dorcas' parents were Robert Jones and Rebecca Carpenter - apparently from Wicklow Co.
