Michelle - I notice Dwyers in Hacketstown parish (RC) in the 1800's. Take a look at http://www.rootsweb.com/~irlcar2/Baptism_Hacketstown_1.htm Also, there is the Irish Heritage Site: Dwyer McAllister Cottage in Derrynamuck, Knockanarrigan (SE of Donnard). in 1799 Michael Dwyer, famed rebel, fought the British troops and later escaped. There is a restored (once burned to the ground) cottage. I know there are Listers researching this surname on the Wicklow List but I guess there have been recent problems with some Internet Service Providers blocking Rootsweb List emails. I hope you hear from some of your 'cousins.' Sharon Kavanagh At 10:30 PM 4/1/2006 -0500, you wrote: > > >Hello all. I am new to this list. Hello List, I am finally going to Ireland May 30th. I am planning on doing some research on my Kennedy/Byrne family at the National Library and in Wicklow while I'm there. Any advise or information would be most helpful. Thanks Barb
You are all subbed and your addresses are current the only thing wrong in the last three weeks was the *Cylclone Rootsweb* as it had been classed as spam by *SPY COP and SPAM COP* so if any of you have ISP providers using this anti mailing ware you yourselves as the receiver from these ISP providers need to ring write etc, and ask them to WHITE LIST your rootsweb mail. Now to why posting are or did not appear they were most likely lost in cyber space, chewed up and spat out and having fun with many of the mails that never made any lists again a compliment of the above spy ware. Now if you are receiving doubles please be aware if you click Reply ALL it by default creates two mails for you mail box. Now one more thing if you also send you mails to the wrong address you dont make the list you need to make sure the address you are using is IRL-WICKLOW-L@rootsweb.com and not the request list. I dont wish to generate more mail from this posting so there is no need to go further into the recent problems that were created by this recent *Cylone Rootsweb* Cheers Cara -------------------------------------------------------------------- mail2web - Check your email from the web at http://mail2web.com/ .
Hello Kate, Your message came through to me OK this morning but I don't seem to have received anything from the Wicklow list for sometime now. Other lists both Irish and Australian seem to be coming through normally and strangely I was only thinking last night that there is a lack of postings from Wicklow. There is currently a problem with some e-mail addresses not receiving list mail due to some ISPs blocking Rootsweb e-mails. This problem has come about because some people have reported Rootsweb mail as SPAM to SpamCop. The ISPs who use SpamCop lists to block SPAM are currently blocking Rootsweb mail. Rootsweb staff are working hard to get the problem resolved. It may help if you let your ISP know that Rootsweb mailing list mail is valid mail and not SPAM. Until the problem is resolved you can catch up on any missed messages by viewing the archive at: http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/index/IRL-WICKLOW/ If your e-mail address returns excessive bounces and you are auto removed from the mailing list I will endeavour to reinstate your subscription. You will know that the problem has been resolved once the e-mails start flowing again, Normally. Yours Cara
