    3. I see that you have a sarah Williams in your farmily. Have you been able to track her side. My Great Grandma Dorcas Jones Born around 1838-42 said that she had a cousin with the last name Williams. That is all I know at this point. Dorcas' father was Robert Jones and Dorcas married a Henry Fennell. They lived in the Rathvilly/Baltinglass area Co. Wicklow. Your reply will be apprecated. RELIGION IF KNOWN :- All were Catholic GENERAL NOTES:- The main thrust of research is to prove the siblings relationship (and/or of other siblings if they existed) through traceable records. Luke, Mary and Michael have been established as children of Thomas and Mary through church records, but Patrick and Thomas are so far only related to the others on anecdotal evidence after emigration, although Luke's Will (proclaimed in South Australia) does describe Patrick as his brother. Thanks to the Wicklow list (courtesy Peggy Leonard and Cara) we have good data from Rathdrum church records prior to the time of emigration on the families of Luke (who married Ann Kirwin) and Patrick (who married Esther Nolan). Thomas was unmarried at the time of emigration. Some present family members believe Thomas (the father) married a second time but their is no evidence anywhere of this so far.

    1. O'Neill, Doyle, Ryder, Murray, Byrne, Cullen
    2. slstrick
    3. Information I would like to locate: Patrick RYDER, Michael MURRAY, John DOYLE, Andrew BYRNE and Bessie CULLEN were present at the marriage of John O'NEILL and Mary DOYLE in Dec 1855. If I could find information on any of these people from the Catholic register for Barndarrigg it may show some relationship to my ancestors. Family oral history says Ellen Ryder is the mother of Mary Doyle, so I am very interested in informaton about Patrick RYDER. Griffith's Valuation for Duganstown Parish, County Wicklow lists Doyle, Ellen Ballard Lower --- Could this be the mother of Mary DOYLE ? Surname of family: O'NEILL, emigrated circa 1856 Father's name in full, birth date, place: John O'NEILL, circa 1830, Ireland probably son of Thomas O'NEILL, b circa 1800 who is listed in the household in the 1860 US census and who probably died circa 1865 in Crawford Co, PA per the property tax records Mother's maiden name if known, birth date, place: Mary DOYLE, circa 1834, Ireland Marriage Info, if known: 1 Dec 1855, Catholic chapel Kilbride-Barndarrigg, Duganstown Civil Parish, County Wicklow likely to have resided in Ballard townland witnesses: Andrew Byrne and Bessie Cullen also present: Patrick Ryder, Michael Murray, John Doyle Children -names, birth date, birth place: 1- Thomas John, b 27 Sept 1857, Crawford Co, Pennsylvania 2 - Elizabeth Ellen, b 13 Dec 1860, Crawford Co, Pennsylvania 3 - Mary Ann, b 17 Jun 1863, Crawford Co, Pennsylvania Death Dates and Death Places:- 1-Parent: John O'NEILL, 10 May 1864, 49th NY Vol Infantry, killed at battle of Spotsylvania Court House, Virginia 2-Parent: Mary DOYLE, 12 Nov 1883, Buffalo, NY, Holy Cross Cemetery Child 1: Thomas John O'NEIL, died 30 Sept 1932, Jackson Heights, Queens, NY buried Calvary Cemetery Child 2: Elizabeth Ellen WEBSTER died 13 Nov 1931, Buffalo, Erie, NY buried Holy Cross Cemetery Child 3: Mary Ann LOFFT died 13 July 1943, Buffalo, Erie, NY buried Holy Cross Cemetery Year departed Ireland: after 1855 before Sept 1857 Ship, if known: unknown Destination: I guess they were destined to Crawford Co, Pennsylvania but I do not know why. I have not found any siblings or other relatives in the U.S. Occupation: Farm Laborer - purchased 100 acres in Crawford Co, PA in 1858 by land contract. The land was mostly covered by pine forest, only 30 acres cleared. I think John O'NEILL enlisted as a private in the 49th NY voluntary infantry in Jan 1864 to collect the bounty money to support his family. Religion if known: Catholic Loose Threads &/or General Notes: Just a clue that Rev. Edward Arthur BURKE (1851-1938), Catholic Priest, of NY, Kentucky, Missouri, Los Angeles, CA, [son of John BURKE from County Mayo Roscommon and Ann DONNELLY from County Roscommon] may be related ? by marriage ? to a "cousin" Katie DOYLE.
