Hello Bill. My BIVRI disk has the following: Luke WADDEN born 30th April 1867 in Camolin, Wexford. Parents James WADDEN and Mary K. (this is also on IGI). A possibility given that he seems to have named his first son James? Camolin is not terribly far from Arklow. Other entries around the same time (including a Philip) suggest that Mary K might be Mary KERAVIN. This is after Civil Registration began so you should be able to get a birth certificate if you think this is your man. Also if the parents were married after 1864 there should be a marriage certificate as well. Hope this is useful. Thanks Brendan for that information. I will be interested to hear should you come up with anything further. As you know, not my relative, but interested having transcribed the headstone at Glenealy. Hi I can't remember if I gave you the following information. Samuel EDGE appears as Lieutenant in the Anamoe Infantry, his date of commission is 20th July 1803. The Anamoe Infantry were a Yeomanry Corps. Edward EDGE appears as a Lieutenant in the 37th Wicklow Militia, commissioned 9th August 1805. This information was provided Glenn Thompson of the National Museum of Ireland, Historical Army section. How KRM relates to this is not obvious and Glenn will try and find out and revert to us later. Hello all, Looking for any info on Luke Wadden, born abt. 1869 - died 1 Apr 1927 in Old Chapel Ground Arklow (may be spelled wadding or waddin) He lived in the fishery in Arklow. Luke married Anne Clancy, who I believe was born Mary Anne Clancy in 1877 also in Arklow. Anne was the daughter of William Clancy and Mary Lynch and lived on Gusset Place in the 1920-30's. On the 1901 census she's living unmarried at Kinsella Lane with her parents/siblings and in 1911 married to Luke living on Halls Lane with their 5 kids. I've had good luck tracing the Clancy and Lynch's in Arklow but have hit the brick wall on Luke's parents. I know he and Anne had sons James b 1902 d 1980 William b 1904 d 1954 my grandfather died NYC, USA Luke b 1906 d ? John b 1910 d? Phillip b 1912 d 1967 Henry b 1916 d 1987 Patsy b 1917 d 1998 And a daughter Mary b. 1908 d 1993 I know that there are Waddens from the 1820's and 1860's but not the named folks I'm looking for or showing a link to Luke. Does anyone have any info on Luke's parents or siblings. I might be able to trace him that way. Thanks all. Bill McCann

Hello I am searching for the birthplace of JOSHUA MILLIGAN, born c. 1833. He emigrated to Massie, Ontario, Canada before 1858 when his first child was born. All documentents state that he was born in Ireland, but even his death papers do not say where in Ireland. He was married to Frances Mulligan in Canada. I have not found reference on any passengers lists as to his port of departure. If anyone can help with this mystery, I would greatly appreciate it. Cheers! Linda J. Nicholson Toronto, Canada

Julie No doubt we have told you this before but with that name you have many variants to look at as well. So I guess you will have to collate and accept all spellings sent to you or shared via the list. I do have some burials for this name at Ballycooge in Wicklow but you may have received them from one of the other listers I have sent them to. Let me know if you have not have a list of those. Hi, We have a some updates for you. There are twenty more headstones in Kilmacanogue Cemetery, Part 3. These were photographed and transcribed by Yvonne Russell. More to come! We also have an additional 60 headstones photos for Newcastle. This cemetery has very old gravestones. That brings this group up to 150 stones. These were done by Joyce Tunstead. I have also added the 1910 Porters Directory that were sent to this list by Cara. I have broken the files up into 8 parts. These are large files - mostly over 1000 lines long. The search engine will "spider" them tonight. You can use CONTROL and F to Find a name in the page. That normally brings up your browsers Find feature. Most of you have seen them, but you can find them in the IGP Archives if you want to look again or send to a friend. I can't imagine how Cara did all that work. She is amazing. She probably knows but my quick estimate is that it is in the neighborhood of 10,000 lines of data. *You can limit your search to Wicklow using the search engine's drop down box. However doing that will not include the headstones so redo your search limiting to Headstones. Or do a site search for your name and add Wicklow to the search terms. The county name is on each text file so that will work. Christina
