Hi I have received an email from Rachel Murphy, could you please contact me agai from a different email address if you have one. I did try to reply to your email but it has been rejected by the qmail-send program. Regards Vicki
Hi Vicki: If your relative was born from 1864 onwards, his birth should be in the Irish civil register of births. The indexes of these births are available on film from the Latter Day Saints, if you are near one of their libraries. The LDS has been transcribing the indexes so they can be made available online but I don't think they are ready yet. When you know the index (volume and page) of birth, you can order a birth certificate from the General Register Office of Ireland, for a fee. Good luck, Annie
Hi I have just received the death certificate of my Great Grandfather who died in 1944 in Auckland New Zealand and it states that he was born in Wicklow Ireland. Can someone advise the best place to find more information regarding his family in Ireland. From what I understand he was the only member of his family to emigrate to New Zealand. Regards Vicki
We are testing out the Military submission form for the IGP Archives. If anyone would like to add something like a roster or letter, we would be glad to have you submit it. The form is not linked yet. The page for just the military form is: http://www.genrecords.org/irfiles/military.html Thanks, Christina http://www.igp-web.com/IGPArchives/index.htm
Hello All, I've received this email from Nick Redden which may be of some interest. The Registry of Deeds is an incredibly valuable source of genealogical information covering the period from fifty years before its inception 300 years ago to the late 1900s. The Registry of Deeds Index Project proposes to make these records more accessible through a volunteer project to compile a complete name index of the memorial volumes. Through the sterling efforts of a small band of contributors the project now has more than 25,000 index records in its data base. You can browse the index entries at the link below: Records in family name order http://members.pcug.org.au/~nickred/deeds/search_index.html Nick's other site has Irish newspaper abstracts. You can also see it at http://members.iinet.net.au/~nickred/newspaper/ Regards, Peter Mayberry Tuggeranong ACT Australia Irish Convicts to NSW 1791-1835 http://members.pcug.org.au/~ppmay/

Oh that's interesting news Bill, thanks for letting me know. Hope it leads to something really postitive. I notice that the majority of WADDEN entries in the Griffiths are in Wexford. Peggy Leonard tells me that it’s just outside Gorey in Wexford and not far up the road is Camolin so you may be onto something. Thanks for the info. I guess I should post on the Wexford list as well regarding the Waddens. Bill

New submission forms on the IGP Archives site. (All free all the time.) I am happy to announce that we now have a submission form which is automated mostly. We still link it up to the index, but your submission goes right on the website. To submit a transcription from a document or a photo go to: http://www.igp-web.com/IGPArchives/ Click on Submission Form Be sure to fill out all fields with an asterisk. Also copy your text in case you forget something and have to close out and go back. Then you will be ready to paste and hit the submit button more quickly. (Just as a back up measure.) Be *sure* to pick the County. We hope this will make it easier for our users to add to the site. If you have questions contact me off list please. David, The programme Who Do You Think You Are on the Walker family from the Coolattin Estate, gave the impression that all the Fitzwilliam Papers are held in Sheffield. The National Library of Ireland has a very large collection of the Estate Papers from the early 1700s. They are an invaluable source for information on families who lived on the estate. The papers which are in Sheffield are partly indexed online. They are not online nor are they indexed online, so have to be searched in person. Jane
You could try the Sheffield and District Family History Society _http://www.sheffieldfhs.org.uk/_ (http://www.sheffieldfhs.org.uk/) They should be able to help Annabelle
