    3. Cara & Peggy, Good idea! The more info out there the better the likelihood of someone else finding some new connections. According to GRO records: William Waddin born 17 Jun 1904 in Halls Lane, Arklow. Father Luke Waddin and mother Anne Waddin formerly Lynch. Luke was a labourer. Also present at the birth was Anne Kearon of Halls Lane, Arklow. (This should be Wadden but sound it out by ear and you can spell it a few ways) Luke Wadden bachelor married Anne Clancy spinster on 17 April 1901 in the chapel of Arklow in Registrars district of Rathdrum. Luke's residence is Arklow and Anne's residence is River Lane, Arklow. Father of Anne is William Clancy a fisherman and father of Luke is James Wadden of Craanford who was a labourer. (Anne is listed as having 2 different maiden names on the above entries. I think they mistakenly wrote down her mother's maiden name on William's birth cert instead of her maiden name. Her mother was Mary Lynch.) Luke Wadden born 30 April 1867 in Bridswell, Wexford. Father was James Wadden a labourer also from Bridswell and Mary Wadden nee Keravin. (Since this takes me back to Gorey in Wexford I'll have to post on that list as well. One comment I'll pass along is that I got a handwritten note from someone in the GRO saying that this record was very hard to read. They had to send to the local office and have the record read from that copy as it was in better shape. They originally thought the mother's maiden name was Kirwan but said the better copy showed it to be Keravin.) I had several Wexford birth and death certificates but I'll pass that info along on the wexford list when I get a chance. Thanks to all and enjoy the trip Peggy. 2. I am aware that Termonfechin is in Co Louth, not Co Wicklow but hope you can point me in the correct direction to find records, hopefully on line, of the Co Louth side of my family. I have been shown family gravestones when attending my aunt's funeral and would like to obtain further information. Unfortunately I live in North Yorkshire in England and so do not have ready access to Irish records. I hope to visit in the not too distant future but not within the next year as our first grandchild is due this summer. Thank you. Anna Thomas

I have other data covering Avoca RC, Dunganstown, Redcross, and Kilbride Church of Ireland not all complete but one never knows unless one asks what we have, if we were to compile up and post a lsit of everything we had, we would never get anything done for ourselves hence we wait, and see if anyone asks us, or sometimes shares with us DONNELLY OF AVOCA Because the child Carol Seeks does belong to a mother Esther and she was baptised Sunday 31st December 1854 Mary to John Donnelly and Esther and the sponsors were Martin Naughton and Julia Donnelly. 3. Hi list, I e-mailed the list yesterday, but it's possible that e-mail went astray. If it didn't, then please forgive me for repeating myself! My Gt-Gt Grandfather was a sailor called Denis Manning, who emigrated to Ratcliff in London in the early nineteenth century. He was born around 1800, and came from Kilbride, and since I am completely new to Irish records, I'm hoping that some kind soul on the list can help me. I came upon a message posted in 2004 from Peter Manning, who appears to have done considerable research on the Irish Mannings or Mannions. Unfortunately, when I e-mailed him the message was returned by the Mail Admin., so I assume he has changed his e-mail address. If anyone knows how I can contact Peter, or if he is reading this himself, please get in touch. It appears very likely that 'his' Denis Manning and mine are the same person! Also, if anyone on the list has any information regarding this family, I would love to hear from you. I am fortunate in being a short walk away from the Essex PR Microfische, and would be happy to do any look-ups for you,so please do get in touch if I can help you. Thanks in anticipation. 3. Hi Im stretching my imagination again and am wondering if anyone knows anything about these DONNELLYS. Ive been using the Irish Family History Foundation database for RC BAPTISMS WICKLOW but havent got the money to spend just yet. Im pretty sure the baptism in Avoca Mary DONNELLY father John 1854 is mine. i need to establish that mam was Esther. I know my John was born very circa 1830, his wife was Esther BYRNE, and that he had a rellie Julia born circa 1840 - her dad was James and James was dead by 1860. Ive found some BAPTISMS Avoca all dad James. John Donnelly 1826 James 1831 Mary 1834 Judith 1839. Im thinking Judith could be Julia- Ive seen this name be interchangeable before. Im wondering if they could all be siblings and also could the parents be the marriage Cara posted a while ago Avoca RC 14 Sept 1826 James DONNELLY Mary MCDONNELL witnesses Larry BYRNE Mary LONG If anyone knows/thinks anything about my latest ponderings Id be glad to hear it. Goes without saying its pure speculation and the name Donnelly has many variants. Thanks carol

    3. Hi Christina, After Christmas, I got six certs ten days after posting the request from England Cheers Tim Kelly -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Christina Hunt Sent: 14 January 2009 13:36 To: [email protected] Subject: [IRL-WICKLOW] question about certs Has anyone ordered certs from the GRO lately. I haven't done it in awhile and as I recall it took a long time. I am thinking of trying for a couple but will be going to Ireland, so I need them by the end of March. Does anyone know how long they are running? 3. Hi Vicki - BIVR has a baptism of an Alice WILLOUGBY to parents John WILLOUGHBY and Alice YOUNG - 20th April 1869. Coollattin, Clonegal, Wicklow. IGI have other children born to this couple, Anthony 1867 Coolattin; female unnamed 1865 Tinahely; William 1866 no location (submitted entry) plus Alice. Might proved a clue as to where to look? He was married in Auckland New Zealand in 1894 it only says that he was born in Ireland. On his marriage certificate it says that his parents were John Willoughby and Alice Young. His fathers occupation is given as woolbroker. Sorry that I cannot provide you with more information with regards to where in Wicklow. I have tried various resources, http://ifhf.brsgenealogy.com/, IGI and by doing a google search for bdm records for Wicklow, but have not managed to find anything of relevance.
