I think we corresponded before. I recently had the Wexford Heritage Center do a lookup on Paul Bolger and they found a Paul Bulger (Spelling different but acceptable) in the Oylegate RC Parish, Wexford records indicating he was baptized on Sept. 10, 1820 (Register 01,Page 67, Entry 10). His Father was Peter Bulger. The sponsors were Peter Bulger and Susan Walsh. This seems to be consistent with other information I had on Paul Bolger which was as follows: "Paul Bolger was probably born about1822 in Co. Wexford, Killkenny or Carlow, Ireland. Immigrated to the US before 1850 when first child was born.. Married Mary Fitzharris (~1826-1885), also from Ireland. They settled in the New York city area and had six children: Anna L. b.~1850, Mary Catherine b.~1852, Peter b.~1854, Lawrence b.~1857, Edward Thomas b. March 1856 and Elizabeth b. 1856. He died in about 1878. Interested in anything about his parents and the family." I would appreciate any information you might have on the Peter/Paul Bolger line. Bob Tomonto Miami, FL

    3. Dear Bob, As neither of your names, Peter or Paul, or the surname Fitzharris show up in my Bolger family, I doubt that there is a connection. I guess we just keep putting out feelers until someone recognizes something familiar about the little information we have and gives us a nudge in the right direction. I appreciate your reply however. With all of us with Wexford ancestry trying to come up with information, I'm surprised these names haven't flitted across someone's path at some time...in my case especially, because Edward and Mary Doyle Bolger had 10 children, all born before the family emigrated to Wisconsin in several waves. Sometimes just a small hint is enough to open up a new a fruitful search. Their children's names, in case there are Bolgers with similar names in someone's family, were Michael, Ellen, Anastasia, John, Catherine, Mary M., Patrick, James Francis (my great-grandfather), Johanna and Edward Joseph.
