I'm doing research on my 3rd great grandfather Moses Byrne [b. 1822 Liverpool] and his family. There is some unsubstantiated information in a number of databases that has his father Denis' birth taking place in 1790 in "Invcotty" Ireland -- with no county listed. As far as I can tell, there is no place by this name and never was. I've tried a number of variations, figuring that it must be a transcription error or something, and I've found a number of references to a "Iniscothy, Co. Wexford, Ireland" which I'm guessing meant to be Enniscorthy. Looking further, there seems to have been some flux in how Enniscorthy was referred to in many historical records. My question is what variations on spelling have folks seen for Enniscorthy and do I seem to be on the right track? Any help would be much appreciated. Regards, Jason Byrne
