Hi I read this with interest, My husband grandfather was a William Newpot from Wexford, he was born in 1891. He may be no relation to your Mary at all but i have found the name Newport not to be that common in Wexford. I don't know much about him only that he's mother was a Margaret Clark. Best Wishes Sue
