Dear Listers Stephen(s) BOYCE was born Abt. 1795 in Ferns, Wexford and is said to have been a Doctor of Medicine (physician). He practiced at Ferns and Enniscorthy, Ireland [and probably lived in one or other]. His wife Mary Anne Clarkson was born about 1795. She and Stephen were married on 19 February 1819, at Arklow, Wicklow, Ireland. Known children were: Margaret (b ??), John Clarkson (born 3 May 1820), Ann Eliza (born 3 January 1822), Charlotte (born 29 March 1824), another Charlotte (born 24 November 1828), and Edward Stephen (born 14 February 1829 in Ferns) Edward came to Australia in 1852 (I have details), as did some of his siblings. The story of that branch of the family is pretty well known from then on. Any help that anyone can give about his life in Ferns and Enniscorthy would be very welcome. Hi Roger, Wow, I'm glad to see your posting. I too have Boyces from Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford, though I don't see given names that match up. I've been researching Robert Samuel Boyce's line. Perhaps Stephen was a brother or cousin? They should have been born in the same period. Robert Samuel Boyce owned a store in Enniscorthy, married Eliza Heath and had 5 children, names mirroring some of yours...Elizabeth, Robert, William, Anne and Kathleen. There were doctors in this line, too. If any of this sounds like anything you've run across, please let me know. I have their family very well mapped out, from Ireland to the U.S. and Canada. It would be wonderful to make a connection.
