    3. Hi List, For years I have been searching for a town in Wexford called Archerton, but no one had heard of it, some said it was a private residence, some said it was the name of a farm, but today I found an entry in the Ireland Old News Cork, it was the birth of a child in Archerton, Co Wexford 1861. Would anyone have any further info on this place ? Many thanks Colleen NSW

    3. Given that the transcribing of this place name may well be wrong how does a soundex of this name leaning towards Askunshin sound to you ? in the Civil Parish of Monart Barony of Scarawalsh now mind this is just a suggestion So dont go biting the messenger .......... I cannot locate this name in the guide to townlands for Co Wexford I still would be leaning towards a house name for this maybe if I knew the surname you were looking for - that may assist also. Could it also be Arthurstown ? Allowing that not everyone got the place names spelt correctly Sorry Cara ----- Original Message ----- From: "Colleen Wells" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, March 28, 2007 6:43 PM Subject: Re: [IRL-WEXFORD] Archerton, Wexford > Hi List, > > For years I have been searching for a town in Wexford called Archerton, > but no one had heard of it, some said it was a private residence, some > said it was the name of a farm, but today I found an entry in the Ireland > Old News Cork, it was the birth of a child in Archerton, Co Wexford 1861. > > Would anyone have any further info on this place ? > > Many thanks > Colleen > NSW > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to > [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the > quotes in the subject and the body of the message >
