Keith, are there any Dixons or Martins in that book? My husband's great grandfather, Edward Martin, was born May 19, 1864, in Ballybaum, townland, Civil Parish Templeludigan, Poor Law Union New Ross, Barony Bantry. His parents were Patrick Martin and Mary Ready. My husband's great grandmother, Catherine Dixon, was born May 3, 1866 (according to her death certificate somewhere in County Wexford. Her parents were William Dixon and Bridger/Bridget Kelly. I keep hitting brick walls searching beyond them. Dear Keith, Would you mind if I asked you to look in the "Families of Co. Wexford" for my family name? Woodbyrne, also Woodburn(e). They were in the Gorey area: townlands were Lacken (Lackan), Bolacreen (no longer in existence). Other Woodbyrnes were at Pallas, and Annagh. My grt grandfather was born at Lacken in Jan. 1846, firstborn of John Woodbyrne and Margaret Doyle. Children are all baptized at St. Michaels in Gorey. Some of the earlier church records are at the R.C. church at Kilanerin. Earlier Woodburns (also Woodburne) were located in Co. Wicklow (only a few miles away), in Ballinaclash, and Ballymoney, and Bally kine. Many are buried in the old cemetery at Whaley Abbey, Co. Wicklow. Many thanks in advance for your time spent. Wishing you a very Happy New Year in 2011.
