Mary, Just for info - when I was last over in Dublin a few years ago I went to the GRO and purchased copies of birth/marriage/death certificates for 4 euroes each. They look like photocopies of the register on plain white paper - nothing fancy. Using a credit card will give you the current exchange. Therefore the trying to figure out the euro exchange and getting correct money order is eliminated. Now, if he can find the data on familysearch.com, all the better. We have used it for some orders but find there is no difference in the fee. However, be SURE it is your ancestor. The numerous given & surnames listed at times for a single civil parish can get you an incorrect certificate. The last one we ordered in late 2010, had about $12. charged to our card. Even when we are in Ireland and at the local GRO, we have NEVER paid such a small fee as 3 Euros. If there is way to do it with postage, please advise. Currently, I have 8 (births, marriages deaths) to get certificates for our family records. Delay was D/T lack of data which we now have. Not going over this year so would love to be able to reduce the stack for 24 Euros - about $35 Mary Ellen ----------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to IRL-WEXFORD-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to IRL-WEXFORD-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
