    3. Bette~       Just GOOGLE Ballyhack, County Wexford Ireland.   We drive through it/by it, when we take the car ferry to County Waterford (Passage East).  There is a lot of information re: it.  Click on the various articles.  You may be able to find the name of the RC church which existed during your ancestors time.  The National School is called St. Catherine.  This may be a clue as to the RC Church name even though it is a National School, not Catholic specific.  The fact there is no Civil Birth Certificate may be a clue that your ancestor was was born pre 1864.  There was a penalty connected to a couple of they did not register their child's birth.  Many birth dates were not all that accurate in the early days of Civil Registration D/T distrust of the English, and recording of the birth a while after the actual birth.        Check out the landlord listed in Griffith's Valuation.  There may be a Tithe Applotment record for the landlord.  If you're lucky, there could be data there.        Ballyhack is in the Diocese of Ferns and the parish of Ramsgrange.
