    1. Re: [IRL-WEXFORD] IRL-WEXFORD Digest, WILLOUGHBY

    3. Thanks Peggy! The info was new - but now I'm confused . . . The Mormon IGI has a Charles Willoughby, son of John Willoughby married to Sarah Langrill, daughter of William Langril under "Marriage Place: Civil Records, Misc., Ireland. (That could well be the same reference as to what you sent me.) . . . . However, I have a copy of a Marriage Registration of the same names --- Charles Willoughby (son of John) of Kilaney, Co. Wicklow and Sarah Langrill (dau. of William) of Cappagh, Aughrim, Co. Wcklow, married at Ballinatone (Ballynatone) COI Church, Co. Wicklow; 30 January, 1849. And now you've sent a note of the same names and date (albeit 1848) but the marriage is at Ballycanew (Wexford). Surely there can't be that many - or even two, different Charles and Sarah's being married on a Jan. 30th in either 1848 or 1849 (?!) For years, I thought 'my' Willoughbys were from Gorey parish in Wexford. Griffiths shows a John Willoughby at Ballingarry Upper , Kilnahue (1853) on the Gorey side of Holyfort, and a William Langrill on the NW side of Holyfort at Annagh Upper. I assumed these might be the John and William (respective parents) of my Charles and Sarah, who immigrated to Canada after 1849 and before the 1851 Census in Eramosa Twp., Wellington Co., ON. But then a cousin in Co. Kildare sent me the Kilavaney, Cappagh, Ballinatone, etc., Co. Wicklow references about a month ago. So I'd revised my research accordingly. Further, there is the possibility that the above John Willoughby of Kilavaney, Wexford married a Sarah Willoughby of Wexford - so perhaps my Wexford Willoughbys thinking still holds, if I 'go back' to a previous generation or more. Could you clarify for me your Ballycanew information, given the above possibility that the Mormon and Wicklow and Ballycanew records are referring to the same Charles and Sarah? Thanks so much.
