I am researching a Jacob Ward who is recorded in the 1860 US census as being born in Wexford 1835. His first son was named William. Following Irish naming patterns I suspect he was called after his grandfather. Checking Griffiths 1852 there is only one William listed in Co. Wexford and that was in the Enniscorthy area, there is also a Jacob marriage listed in civil registration Enniscorthy district 1849, so I know that name existed in the Ward family in that area. Jacob 1835 was Protestant. Are there any resources I can check, what was the local Protestant church? would the birth record be available from the Church of Ireland Representative Body in Dublin. Are there any local graveyard records available online. Any help would be very much appreciated. Brendan
Hi, My family is also from Enniscorthy. they immigrated to the US in 1847 and probably came thru Canada.Soloman Feltis who married Catharine Wade and lived in or near Enniscorthy.
