Brendan, Many thanks for your response. The update regarding the 1901 census being "well on time" is indeed good news. However the internet site I am interested in can be found at: http://ifhf.brsgenealogy.com/index.php. and whilst this database contains almost 40 million Irish ancestral records unfortunately they are not free to view. They have collated records from many of the counties of the island of Ireland but some including those from the County of Wexford remain outstanding and hence my query as to when we can expect these to be added. MARRIAGE WHITE and ORMSBY - September 11th, 1895, at Holy Trinity Church, Rathmines, Dublin, by the Rev. David Anderson, LL. B., assisted by the Rev. S. M. Harris, Rector, Harold Robert White, fifth son of the late Edgar White, Esq., R. E., Irish Land Commission, to Emily Ormsby, youngest daughter of the late George Ormsby, formerly of Ballincool, Ferns, County Wexford. (Wexford Independent, September 14th, 1895, p. 2.)
The family of Feltis or Feltus were in the Palatines brought to Ireland by Ram to work his land and some of that family name were in the New Ross or was that Old Ross area I must have something on them for this to flow so readily from this tired old brain Cara Will look
What I have noticed on these families of Templeshanbo is that you do need to check the Nowlan or Nolan family of Carlow so a browse of the IGP PAge for Co Carlow would be a great idea ( Google will locate it ) remember this a part of Carlow was in Wexford also Cheers Cara
Kathleen, I have information on this Shudall line from 1795 to 1874 (as well as other Shudall lines). They were primarily in the Bannow area and primarily Church of Ireland. The name Ellen was very very common in Co. Wexford and the name Nolan reasonably common, e.g. an IGI search of Co. Wexford brings up 615 Nolans. So I don't imagine your Ellen Nowlan is from this line. If you think otherwise please feel free to contact me. If you have information other than a (married?) name and possible location I'd advise you put it on this list in case it ties in with someone else. Hi, Do you find any record on any Ormsby's? Thanks, Dianna
My Nolans were supposedly from Ballycrystal, Templeshambo. Nicholas Nolan married Bridget or Elizabeth (?) O'Neill. Their children were: Bridget, Mary Jane or Mary Ellen, James, Elizabeth, Michael (my GGGrandfather) Anastasia and Catherine.... I'm not sure if there are others. Michael came to America Oct.1, 1853, via Liverpool. I don't know any siblings of Nicholas Nolan or Bridget or Eliz. (?) O'Neill. Are Rathangan and Ballycrystal in the same area? What are the Parishes there? Many of the given O'Neill names are the same ones I have for Michael's siblings. Michael Nolan / Nowlan, was probably born between 1811-1820, from various census records, etc. Any connections? Thank you. Bonnie, Hi. I don't see anything in the book for Aspel, but do find one entry for Kinsella. Kinsella: In loving memory of Thomas Kinsella, who died June 17th ...., aged 71 years. Sorry it wasn't more. Also, my family knew some Kinsella's that lived in the East St Louis, IL area (many years ago). That name certainly rings a bell in this area. There is actually one for Nolan from Rathangan Old Cemetery outside of Wexford, Ireland. This one is also of interest to me because I am researching the name Parle which is part of this listing. My Parle ancestors came over to the US in around 1884 and settled in Illinois. Here is the listing: Parle - Nolan: Beneath are deposited the remains of Matthew Parle of Mulrankin, who departed this life April 20th 1828 in the 64th year of his age. Also his wide Mary Parle, alias Nolan, who departed this life July 4th 1853, aged 72 years. Also their son Patrick Parle, who died April 21st 1885, aged 74 years. Also their son Mathew Parle, who died April 4th 1888, aged 74 years. Also their daughter Anne Parle, who died March 1897, aged 96 years. Also their daughter Elizabeth Parle, who died May 3rd 1902, aged 85 years. I find 13 listings for O'Neill: (1) Margaret O'Neill, d. 12/25/1897, aged 43. (2) Barry - O'Neill, Jane Barry, alias O'Neill, aged 76, (3) Johanna O'Neill, Rathangan, d. 5/12/1945, aged 70, (4) John O'Neill, Baldwinstown, d. 11/2/1950, aged 73, (5) Nicholas O'Neill, Rochestown, d. 4/21/1996, aged 83, (6) Elizabeth O'Neill, Baldwinstown, d. 5/5/1957, aged 68, (7) Patrick O'Neill, Shanoo, d. 7/17/1962, aged 72, (8) Michael O'Neill, Rathangan, d. 7/9/1979, aged 75, (9) Margaret Madge O'Neill, d. 9/15/1992, (10) Patrick O'Neill, Rathangan, d. 1/18/1998, aged 43, (11) Michael O'Neill, Reahouse, d. 11/22/1807, aged 77, (12) Mary O'Neill, d. 1923, aged 5. Also her grandparents Catherine & James O'Neill, (13) Margaret O'Neill, Bridgetown, d. 7/20/1948, aged 59 If any of these sound of interest to you, let me know and I can expand on the detail written (if any exists).
