    3. My connection to the Kinsella name is Arthur b 1822 in Wexford. He came to the USA about 1850 to Rockford, IL moving shortly thereafter to Minnesota. (I find a spelling of Kinsley for him in some census also) He is the uncle to my great-grandmother Anna Aspel b 1852 whose mother was Anna Kinsella and father Michael Aspel. I cannot prove Anna Aspel was born in Wexford however there are 2 Michael Aspels in the 1851 Griffin census from Wexford. Unable to make any connection so far. My search goes on. 3. Just to add -- Felix Kinsella, the son, came from Dublin to the US in 1850. He was there in time to be enumerated in the 1850 census for Hancock, Delaware, New York on 18 Aug 1850. His naturalization papers are dated 11 May 1858. He was married twice. The first time to Jane McDonald and she died prior to 1870 in Colchester, Delaware, New York. They had a son named Lawrence, born in 1859. Lawrence was raised by his aunt, Sarah Kinsella Hoye, while Felix, for whatever reason, relocated to Pennsylvania. Lawrence remained a bachelor until 6 Aug 1927, when he married a widow named Keziah Frances Williamson Williams. Felix's second marriage was in Nov 1886 to a widow named Hannah Park Snover. Felix died on 2 Dec 1903 in Athens, Bradford, Pennsylvania. According to his death record, he was buried at St. Paul's Cemetery in Hancock, Delaware, New York. According to the records I have, Felix was from Brocorrow in the parish of Adamstown. Felix also served in the Civil War in the 144th New York Infantry. He enlisted on 1 Sep 1864 and was discharged in Hilton Head, South Carolina on 25 Jun 1865. By 1870 he was in Athens, Bradford, Pennsylvania. His first wife, Jane, died some time between 1865 and 1870, as she is enumerated as head of household on the 1865 New York State Census. Felix lived with the Lahey family in Athens for about ten years. I have not yet been able to determine a familial relationship between the two families as of yet. Also, I believe there was another Kinsella brother, Lawrence, who lived in Colchester and then relocated to Cornwall, Orange, New York. Leigh Taffe Acla The Irish Settlement

    3. Sharon, I have a lot of information on Felix Kinsella (the son), who later relocated to Athens, Pennsylvania along with Alexander. You probably received some of the information I have through a friend of mine who is searching for the family of her great-grandfather, John Kinsley. I have been trying to connect Felix's family with the Irish Settlement Kinsella/Kinsley family. The Irish Settlement had numerous Wexford families who later branched out as some of the first settlers in the midwest/western U.S. Leigh Taffe Acla The Irish Settlement ----- Original Message ----- From: "Sharon Sanborn" <slsanborn@sbcglobal.net> To: <IRL-WEXFORD@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, February 23, 2010 9:41 AM Subject: Re: [IRL-WEXFORD] Kinsella Is Kinsella a common name? The update regarding the 1901 census being "well on time" is indeed good news. They have collated records from many of the counties of the island of Ireland but some including those from the County of Wexford remain outstanding and hence my query as to when we can expect these to be added. 1. Re: [IRL-WEXFORD] Ward Family
    2. Hi Cara, Jacob is an unusual name, there was a 1849 marriage for a Jacob Ward, he was aged 40 at time of marriage, maybe my Jacob's (1835) uncle. I believe that the births and marriages were in Ferns Cathederal, letter to the rector and a visit to the Church of Ireland Representative body to see do records exist. I am helping Ethan Ward, Google him, he is a model, trace his family.
