Taoisech is the Irish term for Prime Minister of the Republic of Ireland. Pronounced Tea shek. Hi Edd, I have Sinott / Senet / Sinnett for which I too would like to make connections. Thus far I know they were born in Ireland based on my gg grandmother obituary and base on census records. I can not locate them on any of the ships records nor have I been able to tie them to a place in Ireland. On the 1860 census they were in Hampshire County, VA. 1860 Census, 11-2-1880, Western District, Hampshire, Virginia, PO - Patterson Depot Salt Lake City, 1-8-2005 Dwelling 6, Family 6 Michael Sinnett, 46, Laborer, $0 RC, $100 Personal, Ireland Mary A. Mineral County Deaths Michael SANNET 11-24-1868 AGE 56 Born: Ireland Parents: James & Mary Sannet I have been trying to tie this family into Monet, Nash, Loyd, and Crawfis families but so far no luck. Lori, You should be able to determine birth years for both Susannah and Sarah from NZ death certificates. Try looking for their births of parents marriage and deaths on http://www.rootsireland.ie/ You said they were young when they migrated. That made me think they were children, but my guess would be in there late teens. Have you found their shipping records? Is it possible parents of a brother came also? The other place to check in 1901 and 1911 census of Ireland free online. Look for John, Luke or Robert aged around 50 and born in Carlow. http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/ You might also try the Family Search Beta website https://beta.familysearch.org/s/collection/list Peter
I have been searching for years for one of my missing ancestors. His name Benjamin WILLIAMS he was married to Hannah MORAN. They had 5 children in Killedmond, County Carlow around 1860 and have just found out he later lived in Newtown now known as Banclody. The only information I have on Benjamin ( Ben ) is that he was a farmer, probably born between 1830-40 he married Hannah MORAN not sure where they had 5 children Susannah, Sarah ( both moved to New Zealand when they were young ) Sussanah and Sarah's death certificate show Benjamin as their father a farmer in Ireland. John, Luke and Robert. Luke later worked in Wexford where I believe Benjamin moved to. We have a photo of Robert in a military uniform but cannot date the photo. I have not been able to find any record of Benjamin anywhere in County Carlow and am hoping someone may be able to help with this mystery. Any help would be greatful. Thank you. Regards Lori (USA)
Valerie, I found her in 1911 Census at 33 Rathgar Rd, listed as Henrietta BOND. She living with another single woman who is transcribed Mannall BEDFORD and two servants. The problem with 1901 is that she's listed as Henrietta BEDFORD. The other lady is written as Mancell BEDFORD. I found them simply by going through at all the BOND surnames in 1911 and all the BEDFORD surnames in 1901 and looking for Rathgar Rd. Peter in Sydney
I am looking for information regarding Christiana W HIGGINSON who married John P BOND in 1846 and had a daughter ?D/F M BOND who was the Attestant to the burial of Mary Anne HIGGINSON in Mt Jerome Cemetery in 1899 saying she was her niece. Mary Anne was aged 75 years and lived with Miss BOND at 33 Rathgar Avenue, Dublin, Ireland. I have not been able to find Miss BOND in the 1901 census. Here's hoping for some help. Cheers from Valerie in sunny Sydney
