    3. Hi Everyone! (1) Bumped off? There is, or was, a problem with AOL subscribers on Rootsweb. This was posted to another list on 17 November 2010: ".............. Some of you already know this and some do not, AOL is kicking off the addresses of folks who are on the rootsweb lists sadly so you may have been unsubbed to your favorite rootsweb lists and not know it yet. I have had several messages from the list owners and administrators concerning this problem and they are all saying that AOL is quite aware of the problem. The rootsweb subscribers are dropping like flies so until AOL chooses to correct the problem there is not much you can do. They are all telling folks to resub. As of yesterday Sandi's list had lost 94 and probably lost even more today more than likely, some lists have probably lost even more. So unless AOL chooses to whitelist rootsweb again, this problem isn't going to vanish overnight. Just passing it along for those you unaware of the problem .............." (2) Roll Call I'm searching for the family of James LOUGHNAN (1836 - 1918) or LOUGHMAN and his wife Mary D'ARCY (1836 - 1907). Their daughter Josephine (1874 - 1940) is my grandmother. They lived at Slaney Place, Enniscorthy, where James was a Baker and Auctioneer. 2. I am looking for some Sinnett / Sinnott's that came from Co. Wexford. Unfortunately I have no idea where in Co. Wexford they are from. In 1860 Michael Sinnett was in the VA census stating he was from Ireland. His wife was Mary born in VA. I found a death certificate which I guess could be the one Michael Sinnott I am looking for which states his parents were James & Mary Senet from Ireland. Thus I could assume that James, Mary and Michael were born in Ireland. Would like to locate this family in Ireland, birth records, siblings, etc. Next would be to find out when Michael immigrated? Alone? With his parents? Was he previously married? Maybe in Ireland? Two children were listed in the 1860 census Michael 16 and Mary 6 which gives the idea that he may have been previously married and his first child Michael had a different mother. Any help? Or where would be the best sources for finding this info. Thanks. 3. Barbara, I have been fortunate to have letters written by the children of Daniel Barrett in the early 1800's. The letters make them real people not just names on a piece of paper. They had problems just as we do now. one letters tells of sitting with Joanna as she was dying. I don't think anyone would write a letter like that today. Madalene R. 1. [IRL-WEXFORD] Boyce/Boyse of Enniscorthy, Bannow and Between
    2. Tracy Keenan Lloyd
    3. Happy New Year, Listers, I'm narrowing in on our 19th Century Boyce family of Wexford. Ultimately, I'd like to find the parentage of Robert Samuel Boyce born sometime around 1815 and died 1853. He married Eliza Heath of Co. Wicklow. Using the trickle-down method, I'm hoping he comes from one of these lines: Can anyone fill in any blanks? >From Burke's Genealogic and Heraldic History: Nathaniel Boyse who first settled in Co. Wexford abt. 1658 and purchased the estate of Bannow, died in 1678, leaving an heir, Nathaniel Boyse, who died in 1714. The Elder Nathaniel's brother, Sir John Boyse of Bannington, Kent, UK settled in Ireland before 1649 in Bannow, Carrig, near Wexford. I would also like to know of his descendants, if any. The pages of my copy of the book didn't scan well enough to read Sir John's wife's name. The younger Nathaniel had a son, Samuel Boyse. Samuel's son, Thomas Boyse, Esq., 1781- married Margaret Jackson. Does anybody have any other of Nathaniel's children's names? Thomas and Margaret Boyse's children: Samuel, Nina, Margaret, Frances and Jane. Of these, Samuel, their only son, married Dorothy Carew in 1780 and had for issue: Frances, died unmarried Dorthea not married Shapland Not married Thomas Boyse, Esq. 1785-1854, Quite a character, well loved,. Married late, very briefly, no issue. Richard, a Reverend, born 1787, married Winnifred Berners Plestow, Issue: Augustus Freeman Boyse, 1822-1859, and Alice Boyce who married Wm. Tomkin 1841 @ Monamolin Margaret m. Henry Holdsworth Hunt, had 5 sons. Mary b. abt. 1793, died 11 June 1869 at Bannow. No issue. I've run across James Boyce of Mounthoward and so far only know of 3 of his children: James, Samuel and Sarah. I have a feeling my Robert Samuel may come from this line. Any help with the puzzle would be wonderful. Tracy Lloyd tracy@timetoshine.com

They are all telling folk s to resub. 2. Ginny & Bernie Humphrey
    3. I belong to this list because my great, great grandfather, James Weadock of Ballygarrett (1807-1880), migrated to Canada at some point. He married Bridget Mullen in Belleville, Ontario in 1835, and they had a large family. In various Ohio newspapers, James' grandsons are referred to as "cousins" of the Ohio and Michigan Weadocks. Someday I hope to find the exact relationship, and find out who the rest of James' family was. And, yes, Peggy Leonard, you have sent me lots of material in years past! Virginia Humphrey, upstate NY

While in Ireland I also went into the Congleen RC cemetery and took some photo's for a lady I never met and passed them on to her via email. 3. Bob~       We put the Rathangan sacramental files on line a few years back at http://www.igp-web.com/IGPArchives       My husband's gg grandmother was Judith/Johanna/Judy PARLE.  She married fis,t Nicholas CLEARY who died young leaving her with small children.  Then, as was the custom his brother Patrick married her.  They had two more sons; John and Nicholas.  John was my husband's maternal grandfather. The CLEARY family had extensive holdings (although Catholic) in the area of the townland of Blackstone.  The descendant's still own it, raising thoroughbreds and sheep.  Some acreage was sold off a few years back.  The original house, renovated, still is on the property.  The current CLEARY family built a larger house about 25 years ago.  It is an absolutely beautiful area of Ireland.        The oral history has the land being owned originally by the PARLE family.  After the '98 Rising, a CLEARY married a PARLE, thus making it a CLEARY holding.  The timeline for our data does not quite match this story.  However, rusty old parts of guns were found in the thatch during the renovations so maybe a CLEARY on the run did find time to romance a PARLE.  Our CLEARY line from records appear to originate in the hills around Duncormick.       The postmistress of Duncormick is another cousin whose maiden name was O'BRIAN but she married a non related CLEARY!!  That position has been passed down through the years.       We placed the Baptismal records from approx. 1803 to the late 1900s on line.  There is a stretch of records from about late 1840s to mid 1850s missing.  They exist at the parish house but the priest at the time the Wexford Heritage was transcribing them, felt the books too fragile.  When we were gathering data for Irish Citizenship several years ago, we had to get my husband's grandfather's baptismal record which was for 1853.  Proof to us that they do exist       The marriages go to the mid to late 1890s from about 1803.        I have some history on the PARLE family re: their origins which I can upload to you if you are interested.  With the exception of this year, we try to be in Ireland a few times a year.  My family reside in Mayo and Jack's as stated, the townlands of Blackstone, Kilmore, Kilmore Quay, and Duncorkmick.       Hope the records help you in your search. 1. [IRL-WEXFORD] Have I been bumped? Placenames roll call
    2. Nancy C
    3. The mailing lists today are not nearly as active as they'd been years ago, before so much information became available online.  I do miss reading about everyone's quests.   Perhaps we can start a Placenames roll call?  Often it is more beneficial then a surname one.  We can discover new avenues available to research in a particular geographical area that are not widely known to the entire county. Othertimes, we can make contacts with persons who have access to a particular baptismal register etc. for our area of research.   I have nineteenth century ties (1800-1900) to New Ross area of Wexford----   Townland of Cullenstown--  Civil Parish-Horetown/  RC Parish--Clongeen Townland of Ballyvergin (Ballyvirgin)--  Civil Parish-Kilgarvin/   RC Parish--Adamstown Townland of Garradreen--Civil Parish-Coolstuff/  RC Parish--Glinn (Glynn)   Also interested in Taghmon RC parish 1800-1810   Look foward to hearing from others who are interested in these areas.   Nancy
