    3. Not that your townland  might be in these records but one never knows.  Have you gone to the IGP archives and County Wexford to check.  Several months ago, we gave about 5000 sacramental records from the  RC parish of Rathangan; baptism from 1803 to 20th century and marriages 1803 to about 1898.  You might find something there.  This area is on the south east coast of Wexford, south of Wexford Town; Kilmore, Tomhaggard, Duncormick are a few of the towns in this parish. 3. There is a marriage listed on LDS Website under Ireland Marriages as follows: ROBERT CHAMBERS son of JOHN CHAMBERS married ELIZABETH THOMPSON daughter of JAMES THOMPSON. They married on 29 June 1854 at Glendermot, Derry, Ireland. This marriage is in the Civil Registration Index of Births Marriages and deaths - Robert Chambers 1854 Registered at Londonderry, Vol.7 page 382. Elizabeth Thompson also found with the same registration details. You can now order a copy of the Registration from the GROs, from which you will be able to see if Elizabeth was a Spinster or a Widow. Hope this helps Joyce > Hello to the list, can anyone help me, I am looking for a marriage which > took place in Londonderry, Ireland. > > It is Robert Chambers born in 1830 in Londonderry, Ireland, to either a : > > Elizabeth Thompson or Elizabeth Hardy. 3. Just curious.  Why are you seeking info on the county Wexford list for an ancestor who lived in Londonderry??  If he was Protestant, his civil marriage record should be available since his marriage would have been after 1845.  That data should be available on the LDS site, familysearch.com   CHAMBERS is an Ulster surname and is common in Mayo in the Newport area which is Connaught. Most were recent immigrants, either Irish or Scots, many of them young women. A 2002 fictionalization of the disaster recounted: Flames spread rapidly, and now terror of fire threatened those waiting to be saved. Mary Bannon, pinned in the wreckage, handed her pay envelope to the friend comforting her and asked that it get to her father. 'Bid him goodbye for me,' she said, 'You will be saved; I will not'. While Irish and Scots were the majority, the list of the Pemberton Mill's casualties is indicative of New England’s labor force at that time. 3. Hi Kathleen, yes we did communicate a few years ago; it is unfortunate but I do not know much about Anastasia O'Neill other than 1) she was married to Eugene Connick, 2) she erected a monument to her husband in 1834 or sometimes after that 3) that monument was erected by her in Ballyanne, 4) consequently it is obvious that she died after him, after 1834; 5) she had at least three children from Eugene : a) my ancestor Owen Thomas who was born sometimes around 1818 and who died in Percé (Canada) in 1877, there are indications that Owen Thomas might be born and baptised in Sutton Parish but I have not found yet any trace of him b) Dennis who died before his father as his name is also on the monument c) Catherine who was born in 1814 (probably in Kilbraney) and died in 1825 (possibly in Kilbraney). Her name with dates this time is also on the monument to her father. 6) Anastasia must be technically although it is far from certain about 5 years to 10 years younger than her husband who is supposed to have been born around 1773. I simply draw that conclusion that men generally will marry women that are of their age or younger and since Anastasia died after him one could at least suppose that she might be a bit younger. 7) It might also be that Anastasia has lived in Kilbraney with her husband but that, upon his death, she had him buried where she lived as a younger woman. and that's where I am stuck ... any ideas from anyone would be welcome John Le Garignon Gatineau (Quebec) Canada -----Message d'origine----- From: Kathleen Conway Sent: Sunday, January 09, 2011 5:21 PM To: irl-wexford@rootsweb.com Subject: [IRL-WEXFORD] ? @ Anastasia O'Neill - reply to John Le Garignon Hello John, Can you please tell me what you know about Anastasia O'Neill? Eliza was on the Andromeda and had a small child with her and other convicts had suggested to her to say she was a married woman rather than saying she had an illegitimate child. I did find a Cathrine Wilson and took a stab in dark as Eliza later when she was with William Williams they had a child Catherine this was found  on familysearch, I think Catherine  may have been buried at St. John's Parramatta, I applied for the death certificate  and this had no useful information on it. Eliza and another convict a William Williams who came on the Hooghley 1828, applied to be married at least 2 times and this was denied because the shipping records stated that she was married woman. Her death certificate stated parents unknown. I must admit as yet  I have not tried looking for records from the Cork goal, this is where she was transported from.
