    3. Okay I will bite the bullett so to speak and wander in where the others wont go, and say this I believe the name Wafer-Weafer to be not a variant of Waters........... I have headstones with the names on them but as I have no idea of what you are seeking, be it Wafer or Water/Watters I have not looked . John Grenham also classes both names as separate surnames. 3. I hate this when someone takes the hard earnt data and places it else where and this is one of my pet peeves of late, nothing has been more annoying than having someone offer to sell back to you the data you worked hard to compile for years and paid good coin for So Frank I do sympathise with your and who or what you say are the pylefamily something that goes with pile of ????? could be placed on roses. How annoying ..........and how stupid its a bit like the guy in the Wexford Library who tried to tell me about the Treacy site he had built and then proceeded to show me the data that I have placed on the IGP page for Wicklow and when I asked him why he could not at least aknowledge the site he took it off if not the people who spend hours in dingy dark old dusty places writing down these stats, he proceeded to tell me, I had not formatted it properly for him to get off the site, so I asked him if he would like all the otherTreacy data I have compiled, ( I was being sarcastic) he said you can send it to me, to this day he has no idea that he was talking to the person who had compiled the data he has taken and put on his site, so Frank my advice to you is, ignore the wannabes and cowboys and just go on doing what you enjoy researching and I see Auntie Eileen who is chasing Sheehans has contacted you, and she is a sharer and a carer, great lady that one, and Cyril by the way is simply being coy hes around. 3. Further to my recent message raising the possibility of these two surnames being variants, I have just looked at a small booklet I have on Enniscorthy-it contains a variety of lists about that town and the rural area abt it I have picked up on a quick scan through it the following references to Wafers 1901 census- Wafer, Patrick /Dora ,The Shannon 1911 " Wafer " " and family? 57 The Shannon 1858 Griffiths Valuation Rev Francis Wafer-2 listings at Mashalltown The booklet is"Exploring Family Origins in Enniscorthy" publ 1998. I purchased it at the visitors centre there on a visit some years ago. As for my Waters/waters there are refs to them in the 1901 and 1911 censuses as well and in some of the same areas! In addition I have found the Waters name down in Felthard further West near the coast but still in Co WEX Hope this is useful for you-there's always so much to follow up! I had thought I was posting directly to the IRL-WEXFORD posting board in hopes of connecting with someone who might have James O'Neill, and wife Margaret Edwards proof of marriage in their data. I know they got married in 1845 in Ireland, but as Cara wrote more than likely in Margaret's parish in Drinagh. Can anyone reading this write me as to how to find the address of the priest in Gorey, and also the addresses of the parish priests in Drinagh? Thanks for any help you can give me. I noticed that my message didn't come up on the IRE-WEXFORD message board, so could someone also tell me what I'm doing wrong. Thanks

The other side of the coin is the 'cowboys' who have hijacked my URL (who or what is "pylefamily"), also those who could not be bothered to even express thanks for information that cost time and money to research. To all researching the Kehoes I would direct them to the 'Wild Geese' website and have a ball reading about Myles, think I might have mentioned him before. The 'Wild West' has come to mind as I have just relocated to a wonderful one-horse-town in the wilds of Ayrshire, Scotland; Burns Country don't you know (wonder if he was related to the Wicklow Byrnes, poor joke). If anyone has any leads on Sheehans living in Wicklow in the 20th c. I would be grateful. Mine were my great-grandmother Nora -married James Kehoe 1880 in Wicklow town- she was b.abt. 1859 and d.1913, also her father, Mortimer - no dates known. There was also a Maurice, not sure what relation he was, but was told he was a good musician. I was told our Sheehans were from the 'West', Kerry I think. Some of these Sheehans moved to Boston, Mass. in the late 1800s although Nora remained in Dublin and latterly Wicklow where she died. Frank Kehoe Catrine, Scotland.

    3. Kathleen This book is a collection of the recollections of a life of a woman, Peig Minihane ( O Driscoll ), born 1861, in the parish of Kilcatherine, on the Beara Penisular in south west Cork, in the years about 1939. They cover all aspects of life and death in a small farming and fishing community, and stories of the past, famine, and the sidh. It is a great read, and does inevitably mention other families and names and places, usually nearby, but could not be considered a genealogical source unless you know that your family is from that part of Ireland. It's a story about storytelling..... Mary
