Most of the Irish that went to Argentina are from the Westmeath/Longford area. From the 1895(?) census, we found that seven families with the Eivers name went down there. They went to work on sheep ranches. Most of them emigrated during the famine since almost anywhere was better than where they were. A great many were very successful in Argentina and lived a good life.
