I have have found both of my g-grandparents families on Griffiths valuation (1854) and know what townland they are from in Westmeath. I also have copies of their childrens baptisms from Delvin Parish and their marriage certificate (1884). I would like to continue to go farther back. The baptismal/marriage records were gotten by my now deceased Aunt. I know that she travelled there to get them but don't know if she tried to looked for baptismal/marriage records father back to our g-g-grandparents. I know the fathers name on either side from the names that were on their marriage license but not their mothers. Has anyone had any luck writing a parish (especially delvin parish) and getting any information back? Do I send a donation? Would it be acceptable to send it in US Dollars? Could they research with just husbands names and approximate dates? I am aware of Dun na Si but think there prices are extravagant and results poor at best from what I've seen of others reports.
