Hi Rita and others; I have a Bernard ROAN or ROWAN who lived around Rochfortbridge (Farthingstown area) in Westmeath. He came to America around 1850. He may have come with an uncle, John ROAN. He settled back-and-forth between Brooklyn, NY and Rahway, NJ. Bernard's daughter: Maggie ROAN married a Hugh Roark (Rourke/O'Rourke, etc.). I keep finding the Rourke family living near to the ROAN's in the 1850's and 1860's. There may be a connection.
