Charles OWENS and Mary NOLAN were married 20 Feb., 1841 in Coole R.C. parish just north of Mullingar. They had 6 children, 3 of whom emigrated and 3 stayed in Ireland. The 3 who stayed in Ireland were Bessie Owens, who married a FITZSIMMONS and stayed in Westmeath. Marcella Owens, who married Patrick ROBINSON and also stayed in Westmeath. Charles Owens (b. circa 1848) married a girl named Mary, moved to London and had 2 sons, Eugene and Francis. Charles died in 1894. The 3 who emigrated were Mary Owens, who became Sister Alexis of the Sisters of Mercy and went to California, where she died in 1916. Thomas Owens (b. circa 1845) moved to Massachusetts circa 1865 and lived in Taunton. His brother, Michael Owens is my husband's grandfather. Michael also moved to Taunton, where he married Catherine Ryan in 1868. If anyone is following any of these family lines, I would love to hear from you.
