Good Evening, I wish to register my Tyrrell ancestors who were originally those pesky Normans who came over and aided one or another minor Irish king against and another. As an aside there has to be another name other than "King" to identify those Irish Marauders who would rather fight each other than the invading Normans. My Tyrrells fought against QEI and the Roundheads and got out of Dodge with their heads and some of their money. They were not around for the Great Famine and they had no part of the Fenians. My gggrandfather was an Infantry Colonel in the Confederacy and were other ancestors. My ggrandfather fought in the Spanish American War and in Haiti. My grandfather served as a Major in Europe during W.W.I, my Dad as a LTC flew B29s in W.W.II and I as a Captain bled infantry blue in Vietnam. Since my ancestor fled Ireland they became part and parcel of this new land and never looked back. They fought against the Brits for American independence. They seemed to have always been Americans first and foremost. Two brothers one an Union general and one a Confederate general died in our War Amongst the States. They were proud of their Irish ancestry but America gave them so much that they never looked back to what might have been. So if you all out there know anything about the Tyrrell's drop me a line and I will respond with what little I know. Sincerely, Jack Norton Terrell San Antonio, Texas
