Hello List I am trying to trace a family of Broadway's from Ireland with no luck at all. Family tales tell of Athlone as the homeland. I have a Patrick Broadway (dob est 1785) settling in Walsall Staffs England prior to the 1851 Census. In 1851 Patrick was living with the following people : - Wife Mary (est dob 1788) Children 1. Matthew Est dob 1828 Married Catherine Fallon (est dob 1831) in Walsall 1855. Died 1894. 2. Thomas Patrick Est dob 1831. Married Bridget Howley in Walsall 1854. Died 1895. 3. Mary est Dob 1833. Married Michael Crosby and died 1858. 4. Margaret (est dob 1826) already married to a William Cunningham from Ireland in 1851 with one child Patrick Cunningham born Ireland est 1845. Margaret died in 1858. There may have been more children that stayed in Ireland unless Mary was Patrick's second wife or had her first child about the age of 40! I have information about this family after this date and decendent until the present day BUT know nothing prior to 1851. Living next door to them in 1851 was the family of Michael Keogh also from Ireland and lodgers at same address as Patrick Michael Hart and John Brady from Ireland.
