Hi Frank, I haven't any pixs of Moate, sorry about that. But, if it's the same place I visited for dinner...two years ago this February, while on my way to Athlone, ( a short distance away)...Moate is very small indeed. All we saw was a restaurant that serve Chicken with alot of Potato & Carrots. It was dark and maybe I missed something (?)..but, I hope you have a place to stay in a town close by. There is a Mr. Egan there in Moate, that does genealogy...finding him is another thing, but, then he could be in the phone book. There's a Mrs. Ann Lyons in the town of Athlone, that has a lovely two story house..very reasonable and homey, abt $40.00 per. It's called the 'Riverdale' house and within walking distance to town (with breakfast included)...and I'm sure she would even drive you to the town of Moate...very nice lady (we still exchange Christmas cards). Lots of B&B's in Athlone, and it's only about 15/20 minutes away...you wouldn't need reservation as everyone has a sign out for their B&B's..it's a gorgeous town sitting on the river Shannon...and I hope you don't miss it. This is directly behind Dublin ...if you look on a map. Good luck to you. I'm fairly certain this Moate is the town you are seeking...doubt there could be two? You can rent a car at the airport...or ride in the bus to Athlone...passing Moate.
