Most of the Irish that went to Argentina are from the Westmeath/Longford area. From the 1895(?) census, we found that seven families with the Eivers name went down there. They went to work on sheep ranches. Most of them emigrated during the famine since almost anywhere was better than where they were. A great many were very successful in Argentina and lived a good life. If anyone can help Frank please send your answer to the email below! Thanks, Christina ----- Original Message ----- From: [email protected] Sent: Sunday, February 11, 2001 11:24 AM Subject: Bracken Family from West Mearh Hello Christina, I am looking for any information available on Martin Bracken, born in West Meath in 1836. I understand that his father was William Bracken and his mother was Mary ? His wife was Mary Bridget Dalton, born in Ireland in 1835. I don't know where. They had a daughter Mary Ellen Bracken, born in Winsted, Connecticut in 1862 and died in Waterbury, CT in 1923. I do not know if there were any other children. Mary Ellen was my grandmother. All of the information that I have been able to locate is included in this E-mail. Anything that you might be able to add this would be much appreciated. Thank you for your kindness. Frank Farrington

I understand that the NORTHEAST area (UK) may not be an area / subject you cover on your list but many families were always travelling around the world from one port to another and maybe some members on your list may have links here. If we can help one person from your list then this whole project would be well worth the time and effort we are putting into it. The 2 new sections, which will come under the heading "INFORMATION EXCHANGE" will have 2 sub categories:- (1) "FIND A FRIEND OR FAMILY MEMBER" This section is designed to help both members of mailing lists and members of the public. Messages will be posted in the hope of locating a family member or friend who may either, once lived in the Northeast, or hold vital information which would be useful to list members. The difference with this section is that most mailing lists do not allow its members to post messages about living people, although I know many people that have found relatives, family members, and lost cousin's they didn't know they had - through other sites and after much time spent on different sites etc. (2) "LOOKING FOR GENEALOGY INFORMATION" section is designed to help those people who don't have access to a computer but who are interested in Genealogy and will be mostly done through the media. This will help both them and the members of other mailing lists that have an interest in the North East of England. There will be a special fax and answer phone service available. (-- Fax Number 07050 600 878 -- Answer Phone 07050 600 877 where members of the public can contact me and I will arrange for their message to be placed in our special sections on our web site. Please feel free and visit our site, or, you may be interested in joining our Site Ring to let other members know about your list. Our web site address is located at:- http://uk-northeast.com We need your help & cooperation to get this project off to a good start. Please forwarded it to your members. It will be much appreciated. Thank you for your time Stephen --part1_3e.72edfe1.27b4640c_boundary--
Hello, I'm researching these names; Peter HARDIMAN, married PENELOPE VEASEY/VESEY their daughter; MARGARET baptised St. Peter's in Athlone, Ireland...and Penelope's brother was BERNARD HIGGINS, their mother; BRIDGET VEASEY/VESEY. Also there's a CRUISE. Mcdonald married Bernard HIggins...they eventually (with the exception of Peter and Penelope) to Dane Co. Wisconsin and are buried there. HARDIMAN has several different spellings..HARGADON, HARAGDON..ETC. eventually HARDIMAN. There's also a MULRENIN...apparently Bridget Veasey's mother's name...would enjoy hearing from anyone with these names. Thank you. Jackie
