    3. John Birmingham, a National School Teacher married Katherine Lynch-Coughlan, a millner, in Lismore (1865) She was the daughter of Thomas Coughlan, a painter, and Anne McGuire (sic). At the time of her marriage, Kate live on Main Street, Lismore. John taught at Castlericharad and later in Ballygambon. Any information on the Birmingham or Coughlan family would be appreciated. Also does anyone know why Kate would use Lynch-Coughlan as her last name. She had not been married before marrying John. 1. Re: [WATERFORD] ROLL CALL <**HEARN / PHELAN **>
    2. Krisiain
    3. Hi there I'm interested in HEARN from Kilfarassy, (Fenor? or poss Islandikane), Tramore, and also PHELAN, Annestown. Martin Hearn married Ellen Phelan in the mid 1800s and had three daughters who emigrated to New Zealand probably in the 1890s. At least one son stayed behind as there were apparently descendants still living at Kilfarassey in the 1960s. Known children are (birth dates have been worked back from the - probably unreliable - ages given at death by relatives): 1. Anastatia (Anastasia) Hearn, poss born 1870-1871 She married Timothy O'BRIEN in NZ, and died in 1927 in Wellington, NZ. 2 Delia (Bridget?) Hearn, poss born post 1880? She married Mick O'SULLIVAN in NZ in 1897, and died in 1945 in Wellington, NZ 3 Annie Hearn, poss born: Cir 1883 She married Thomas Martin CONDON in NZ and died in 1919 in Wellington, NZ 4 Son 1 Hearn No details known; I speculate he might have been a Martin, based purely on naming patterns. A Nicholas HEARN from Kilfarassey emigrated to New Zealand about the same time as the sisters but a local researcher says there is no known connection in his family tree. I know nothing at all about the PHELAN family of Ellen, except their farm was near Annestown; and as her name is so common the available searching from NZ has been fruitless. I'd be grateful for any assistance/information about any of these people. Many thanks Christine
