If you live in Australia you may want to drop Discovery a line about running the show. I am forwarding an email from the IRL-Tipperary list. --- Original Message --- From: "Mary" <marymh@optonline.net> To: <IRL-TIPPERARY-L@rootsweb.com> Cc: Sent: Fri, 05 Sep 2003 10:43:25 -0400 Subject: [TIP] Discovery Channel & Famine program-- crossposted This is a reposting... after an email from an Australian list member, I thought I again would send this with the suggestion that Discovery get many emails from people requesting this program be shown internationally. The series MOMENTS IN TIME pretty much is geared toward US history, and may not be of interest to international viewers. Hence, it would not normally be shown anywhere other than the US. I got an email back stating it would take up to a week for me to get an answer. When/if I hear anything, I'll let the lists know. I just contacted Discovery Channel through their website to see when it would be on Discovery in Australia. This program was quite informational and moving, and definitely well worth watching. Since it probably wouldn't hurt the process if there were a few requests for this program, I'm also passing the information along to my genealogy mailing lists. The series is MOMENTS IN TIME, the particular show is "Famine to Freedom: The Great Irish Journey." The beginning of their contact pages is: <http://extweb.discovery.com/viewerrelations> Warning: you have to go through several pages before you actually write your message.
