I'm sad to say, but I haven't done much research on the name yet. I've had great success in tracing my own maiden name in Italy and have been in touch with distant cousins there during the last year. My grandfather was able to visit them in June and see the town where his parents grew up. In any case, that research has occupied my time. One of my New Year's resolutions is to get out letters of inquiry to the Gunnings in the Phila. area and see which are related and if they have any info on the family history. Fortunately, because Phila. is such an old city and has lots of historical archives, etc. I should be able to locate our line.
