On the Marriage Certificate George’s parents are given as John Crawford Malcolmson (Army Pensioner deceased) and Sarah Malcolmson (m.s. Malcolmson). It is suspected that and Sarah and George came from Ireland. Sarah’s parents were recorded on the death certificate as John Malcolmson and Mary Geary. Sarah died in Glasgow in 1899 after she had remarried to an Archibald Armstrong. I have a copy of a Marriage Certificate of a Sarah Malcolmson who married an Archibald Armstrong in 1877 in County Antrim in Belfast. Her father is recorded as Francis Malcolmson which is different from the Given Name recorded on her death certificate by her son. To add further confusion the 1901 Census entry states that the Place Of Birth of George Malcolmson is England who would have been born about 1870, An extensive search of the 1881 UK Census has been done and cannot find a suitable a entry for George (presumably because he was in Ireland with his mother as she had re-married by then). George tended to miss out the 2nd L in his surname. If anyone can help me track down George’s birth or knows anything of him or his ancestors please contact me.
