I hope I'm not out of line, jumping in here, However, my Great Grandmother was Catherine Miller, daughter of William or Hugh Miller and Jennie O'Neil Catherine was born in Ballymena, Antrim Ulster in June of about 1836... Some records indicate she was born in 1835, others 1836 to 1838, Her Obituary in 1914 stated she was 77 yrs and some od months old at the time of her death in Greenwood, Nebraska Jennie left Co Antrim in 1854 or 1855, going to Connecticut in the US where she lived with an older Brother Bernard Miller, In Nov of 1855 She traveled west to Chicago, Illinois to join up with another older brother by the name of James Miller... By chance, they happened into, my Great Grandfather, John Armstrong, who was also born and raised in the Ballymena area of Co. Antrim., They all recognized each others manner of speach, struck up a conversation, which in 6 weeks led to the marriage of John Armstrong and Catherine Miller. A marriage which lasted 55 yrs, until the passing of John also in Greenwood, Nebraska My interest would be in any connection to the O'neils, the Millers or the Armstrong's of Ballymena, in Co Antrim, or anywhere in the prov of Ulster. John was the son of a Hugh Armstrong, a tenant farmer... John was born Dec 1820 on his fathers farm, somewhere around Ballymena. John had an older half brother, some 20 yrs older, by the name of Thomas. Thomas preceded John to the US, they both worked in the carpet weaving trade in Philadelphia for a couple years.. Sincerely, John Armstrong Wasilla, Alaska [email protected] wrote: > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/DYC.2ACE/659.1 > > Message Board Post: > > Hi Julie....you don't identify a time frame so I'm not sure if this is a match or not, but my great-great grandmother was Elizabeth O'Neill whose parents were Patrick O'Neill and Eleoner McNamee. Elizabeth O'Neill married my gggrandfather, Arthur Luckey. Elizabeth was baptised and married in Armagh.
