Hi to all : November 26th 1854, MARGARET JANE BLAIR (dau of JAMES BLAIR, Weaver) & JOHN BROWN(E) occ farmer (son of JAMES BROWN(E) Weaver) married in the Ballyscullion Parish Church, (United Church of England and Ireland) they were cousins from the Bellaghy/Castledawson/Magherafelt areas. As a family they spent some time working at the Clydebank shipyards in Scotland where some of them may have remained. Children almost all born in Bellaghy were: Elizabeth married ROBERT HUGHES. Robert. Jane. Thomas Henry. Mary Jane married WILLIAM CHARTERS (Mary Jane died in New Zealand) Wilson married JANE BROWN (cousin) daughter of SAMUEL BROWNE James married Elizabeth Hannah Powell in New Zealand (MY GRANDPARENTS) Samuel married ANNIE (NANCY) ELIZABETH WYLIE born in Bellaghy Margaret married ROBERT BLAIR(cousin) son of GIDEON BLAIR who is buried in churchyard of St Tides, Bellaghy JOHN BROWN(E) died December 1st 1892 at Magherafelt, District of Bellaghy. THADDEUS BLAIR was present at death. JAMES BROWN(E) (my grandfather) had a boyhood friend from Bellaghy, surname MAY.
