I was told that my ancestor James Craney probably came from Ireland, as there were no records of him before the birth of his first child in 1806. He lived in Wigtonshire, Scotland. Does anyone know of Craneys that left Ulster for Scotland at this time? He married Mary McMillan, possibly also from Northern Ireland.
