James McLaughlin and Margaret Kilmurry (Kilmeary, Murray) married in Artikelly Londonderry in 1857. They had 2 children there, Mary 1858, Patrick 1860 and then moved to County Down. They had 3 children in Ballymaccarrett, Belfast between 1865 and 1869. According to his US Natrualization papers my GGF Stapen was born in County Down, approx Dec. 1861. There is a gap between 1860 and 1865 so the assumption is that maybe they spent time elsewhere in County Down (and had 1 or 2 more children) before they showed up in Belfast. Anyone have any ideas on how I can pinpoint an area to look in? The 5 children all had Roman Catholic baptismal records and the Roman Catholic marriage of James and Margaret was recorded in Artikelly.
