I was heartened by your info. I do not have any information about my JAMES MCILVENNA's exact place of birth, only family lore that it was Ballymena, Antrim..no date of immigration to Scotland but must have been early 1800's. He married Margaret AYRE, in IRELAND. They had two boys there and had a third in Scotland, who died at an early age. The two boys were William and Hugh...John being the infant. Margaret AYRE [AIR/AYR var.] was dau. of Elisabeth AIR sic. as per 1871 Airdrie, Sco. Census. There was also an AIR sic. son, as his daughter ANN AYR sic. was indexed on 1871 Airdrie Census, also.
