He had a son Owen who married Ellen McElwee in 1884 at Lavey RC Chapel in Co Derry. Her parents were Peter McElwee and Susan McGurk. Ellen and Owen McCarron emigrated to Toronto, Canada right after their marriage, and her mother Susan joined them later.
