I have a McGuire, however, she did not live in Geelong. My 3grgrandmother, Anne or Anna McGuire, from county Tyrone, not sure of the parish or townland at this point, married a Bernard SHORT in Tyrone. (Possible county: Arboe, possible townland: Kinrush). They had John SHORT in 1829, no confirmation on the siblings yet. They immigrated to Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Their son, John, went on to immigrate to the United States, settling in Brockport, Monroe County, New York. Don't know if this helps, but, I thought I would put it out there for other researchers who may also be looking at McGuire. Good luck in your search.
