James Smyth (b. abt. 1885) married Sarah Mildred McCoy (1885) in Belfast in 1916. They had seven children: James, Edward, Robert, Victor, Eleanor, Margaret and William. James (1885) had at least three siblings: George, the eldest, born about 1873, Richard and William, and possibly a sister called Elizabeth. The boys and their father, William Smyth, were horse dealers and involved in harness racing. The family may have originated from farm lands in the Ballynure (Ballymur?) or Glengormley/Bellview, Carnmoney or Doagh areas. A church was built on their land when they sold it. Later they lived at 39 Beresford Street Belfast. But no details are listed for this street on the 1901/1911 census returns. I'm trying to confirm James's birth date and his mother's name. Any information about this family would be much appreciated. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
