Andrew and Jane did have a son named Andrew, but I don't believe he moved back to VA. The Hamilton DNA project has several members who descend from Archibald Hamilton, and another group who descend from Major Andrew Hamilton's grandson John A. Hamilton. Both groups have unusual mutations and if your husband is related to either Archibald or John A. his DNA will probably show either or both mutations. There are some very interesting findings. Archibald's descendents fall into group B and match a close relative of James Hamilton, the current Duke of Abercorn.
