    3. Greetings All: I have seen some references to British military units in County Down at different times to quell rebellions, etc. Is there any place online where I could find details of those instances? (Dates, units, locations?) I am especially interested in the area of Killyleagh in the late 1700's. One British military was supposed to have left Killyleagh sometime just before 1794-6. Does anyone have information on the unit name or roster? Once I find out the military units and dates, I would like to find out information about that military unit. Were they Scottish units ( since military units in Scotland would closest to Irish rebellions in the north)? Are their any records available naming names of soldiers or officers? Are there any records of soldiers from those units retiring in the areas in which they served? Where would I look for this type of military and Genealogical records? Any help would be appreciated.
