I am researching my GGF- Michael McClean - catholic - born Ireland approx 1834--(probably from somewhere in Northern Ireland)--came on the Clipper Ship Roscius (I believe) on June 15, 1849 to NYC. Settled in Brooklyn. First job 1858( in the Bklyn directory) Asst Post Master @160 Grand Ave, Bklyn.- Living North 1st St. near Metropolitan Ave. Brooklyn, NY. Michael had a brother Edward who attended his funeral in Bklyn, NY Michael marries (around 1858) - Mary J. Goodwin. (catholic -born Ireland 1832 and may have been married before -- has one known brother named Thomas Goodwin--was Post Master of the Williamsburg Brooklyn PostOffice in 1859-1861). - Michael and Mary J had six children that lived - Sarah J.;- John F.; James E.; Mary (marries someone--she or her daughter worked at Brooklyn Water Co.); Theresa; Michael J. (my GF). GGM Mary J. dies at 475 Hudson Ave Bklyn on 3/19/1879 -- Michael dies at 475 Hudson Ave. Bklyn 10/22/1887. Both buried in Old Calvary Cem. in Woodside Queens, NY City. Any connection?
