Her father was John P. McGarry born I beieve in Allegheney City, (now Pittsburgh) PA circa 1850. John's wife was Nancy (Annie) Mellon, daughter of Nancy Gerber and Andrew Mellon. Their other children were Hanna, Hugh, Grace (who married John McGuckin), Michael, Mary, John J. and Kate. all born between 1871 and 1887 John was the son of Daniel McGarry and wife Helen, who came to the US from Ireland in 1840 and Daniel became a citizen in 1844. The family was from Dunloy, just southest of Ballymoney, County Antrium. That's a ways from Ulster, but not far compared to distances here. Daniel's mother was Grace but father's given name unknown. Besides John P., Daniel had sons Daniel, Hugh and William, daughters Grace, Ellen and Hanna. Hanna married James McGuckian. Besides Daniel, Grace's known children were Mich, Charles J. and one known daughter Maggie, who married John McAlonan.
